Carnarvon Travel

FOR THE BODY Carnarvonites spend a lot of their time outdoors – if you’re an adrenaline junkie, or just someone who likes to keep healthy, you’ll get your fitness fix here. At the end of the main street, you’ll see one of our more recent assets — a beautiful waterfront, with grassed lawns and a long, wide footpath. If you jog, cycle or just reckon you’d enjoy a peaceful walk by the water, you couldn’t find a better place, particularly during our famous Carnarvon sunsets. Fishos probably don’t need to hear about Carnarvon, and the coast north of here – spots like the One Mile Jetty, the mud-crab laden creeks, or fishing off the Quobba Coast already the stuff of legend. Kitesurfers will be blown away by the awesome surf and wind at the inlet around Pelican Point during the breezy warmer months, while kayakers can float your boat in the calm fascine waters, or in the oasis of Chinaman’s Pool. FOR THE SOUL I have one word – bushland. We have so much of it here, and such a variety, that, if you like nature, you’ll come out feeling deeply refreshed if you go bush.
