These records of streamflow, ground-water levels, and water quality provide the hydrologic information needed by State, local, and Federal agencies, and the private sector for developing and managing our Nation's land and water resources. Hydrologic data for Minnesota are contained in 2 volumes: Volume 1. Great Lakes and Souris-Red-Rainy River Basins Volume 2. Upper Mississippi and Missouri River Basins This report is the culmination of a concerted effort by dedicated personnel of the U.S. Geological Survey who collected, compiled, analyzed, verified, and organized the data, and who typed, edited, and assembled the report. In addition to the authors, who had primary responsibility for assuring that the information contained herein is accurate, complete, and adheres to Geological Survey policy and established guidelines, the following individuals contrib uted significantly to the preparation of this report: Donald W. Ericson, Subdistrict Chief, Grand Rapids, Minnesota Mark R. Have, Water-Quality Specialist, Minnesota District Henry W. Anderson, Jr., Ground-Water Project Chief, Minnesota District Most of the data were collected, processed, and tabulated by the following individuals: David J. Bauer Jeffrey L. Henry William D. Abstract (Limit: 200 words) Water-resources data for the 1982 water year for Minnesota consist of records of stage, discharge and water quality of streams; stage, contents, and water quality of lakes and reservoirs; and water levels and water quality in wells and springs. This volume contains discharge records for 83 gaging stations; stage and contents for 9 lakes and reservoirs; water quality for 27 stream stations, 19 partial-record stations, 1 precipitation station, and 63 wells; and water levels for 238 observation wells. Also included are 108 high-flow partial-record stations. Additional water data were collected at various sites, not part of the systematic data collection program, and are published as miscellaneous measurements. These data, together with the data in Volume 1, represent that part of the National Water Data System operated by the U.S. Geological Survey and cooperating State and Federal agencies in Minnesota. 17.
