Coach Tom Austin has high expectations for the 1993 Monarch baseball team. The team returns an experienced outfield, including left fielder Joe Myrtle and center fielder Brandon Bridgers. Both have been starters since their arrival at Mediodist. Right field still remains an open position, with Brian Steinhagen, a returning player and Matt Berry, a transfer from UNC-G, competing for that position. The outfield also has good depth with freshmen Craig Spence and Tony Palombizio. The infield is loaded with talented players as well. Andy Nelson will see duties behind the plate.
