AKta CAP DAGANGAN 1976 (Akta 175) PENGIKLanan PERmoHonan UntUK MENDAFtaRKan CAP DAGANGAN Menurut seksyen 27 Akta Cap Dagangan 1976, permohonan-permohonan untuk mendaftarkan cap dagangan yang berikut telah disetuju terima dan adalah dengan ini diiklankan. Jika sesuatu permohonan untuk mendaftarkan disetuju terima dengan tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat, pindaan, ubahsuaian atau batasan, syarat, pindaan, ubahsuaian atau batasan tersebut hendaklah dinyatakan dalam iklan. Jika sesuatu permohonan untuk mendaftarkan di bawah perenggan 10(1)(e) Akta diiklankan sebelum penyetujuterimaan menurut subseksyen 27(2) Akta itu, perkataan-perkataan “Permohonan di bawah perenggan 10(1)(e) yang diiklankan sebelum penyetujuterimaan menurut subseksyen 27(2)” hendaklah dinyatakan dalam iklan itu. Jika keizinan bertulis kepada pendaftaran yang dicadangkan daripada tuanpunya berdaftar cap dagangan yang lain atau daripada pemohon yang lain telah diserahkan, perkataan-perkataan “Dengan Keizinan” hendaklah dinyatakan dalam iklan, menurut peraturan 33(3). Where an application for registration is accepted subject to any conditions, amendments, modifications or limitations, such conditions, amendments, modifications or limitations shall appear in the advertisement.     ORIGINAL RESEARCH Attitude towards problem-based learning and its relationship with locus of control and academic self-concept among medical students Mona Mohamed Ibrahim Abdalla1, Mahmoud Said Abdelal2 and Siew Choo Soon1 1Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Jenjarom and 2Department of Psychology, International Academy of Achievement, Cyberjaya, Malaysia Purpose: This study aimed to assess the degree of acceptance of problem-based learning (PBL) among phase one medical students and its association with academic self-concept (ASC) and internal locus of control (ILOC). Methods: A 5-point Likert scale valid and reliable questionnaire assessing the attitude towards PBL, ASC, and ILOC was given to phase one medical students at MAHSA University. Data were analysed using IBM SPSS ver. 22.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, USA). Results: Out of 255 participants, there were 84 males and 171 females, 175 Malaysians and 80 non-Malaysians. The results showed an overall acceptance of PBL with a mean of 3.7±0.07, ASC of 3.5±0.05 and ILOC of 2.9±0.05. Females showed a higher significant acceptance of PBL, ASC, and ILOC as compared with males. There was no difference between Malaysians and non-Malaysians in any of the variables measured. Simple regression analysis revealed a significant predictive effect of acceptance of PBL on ASC and ILOC (r=0.44 and r=0.88, respectively). Conclusion: The higher the acceptance of PBL among students, the higher is the ASC and ILOC. This reflects the importance of PBL as a teaching method as well as the importance of increasing the level of appreciation of PBL amongst students.

INTRODUCTION A joint effort of The International Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet) and the NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW) Malaysia under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development organized a training workshop with the theme “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Agri-Food Business Through Tropical Fruits Value Chain”. The four day Workshop from 29 November to 2 December 2016 was organized to provide relevant and practical knowledge skills on food production and food business to women entrepreneurs in developing countries. The Workshop was attended by 26 participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Cambodia representing the public and private agencies. The training workshop was successfully carried out through a series of activities, mainly practical sessions led by industry experts, trainers, and extension workers who are currently working with women. Simple techniques such as how to prepare fruit products like jams, cookies, cakes, and traditional desserts. This allowed participants to experiment and have hands-on experiences on techniques to produce value added tropical fruit products with the purpose of supplementing existing household incomes. Several invited speakers imparted their valuable recommendations to address common issues faced by smallholder women entrepreneurs, such as lack of recognition in society and family, and gender and social norms that hamper the advancement of women up the social ladder. Sessions conducted were highly interactive and participants were able to explore with each other their strengths and opportunities.
