We focus our work at the intersection of human rights and the environment, which we defi ne as earth rights. We specialize in fact-fi nding, legal actions against perpetrators of earth rights abuses, training for grassroots and community leaders and advocacy campaigns. Through these strategies, ERI seeks to end earth rights abuses, and to promote and protect earth rights. ERI would like to thank the Conservation, Food and Health Foundation, the Open Society Institute, the Sigrid Rausing Trust, the International Centre for Human Rights and the Threshold Foundation for their generous fi nancial support of our work, without which this report would not have been possible.
