INTERPOL Integrity in Sport Bi-Weekly Bulletin 29 September 2020 - 12 October 2020 INVESTIGATIONS Australia Six international tennis players implicated in allegedly fixed matches Six international tennis players have been named as participating in suspected fixed matches at tournaments in Brazil and Egypt in 2018, as part of a Victoria Police investigation that has allegedly uncovered a corrupt global betting syndicate. The sensational allegations, which are also under investigation by the sport's UK-based anti-corruption agency, the Tennis Integrity Unit, centre around a series of matches played in late April 2018 at the Brazil F1 Futures tournament and the International Tennis Federation's Egypt F15 Futures tournament. Documents released by the Melbourne Magistrates Court identify the players involved in suspicious matches as Sweden's Christian Lindell; Brazilians Thales Turini, Carlos Severino and Caio Silva; Egyptian Issam Taweel; and France's Maxence Broville. The documents refer to interviews with the TIU, in which Mr Lindell, Mr Severino and Mr Turini deny they have ever been involved in or aware of match fixing. The documents do not refer to interviews with the other players. The Age does not suggest any of the players did anything inappropriate or illegal, either individually or collectively, only that they are named by police as participating in matches under investigation. -

Aggression and violence can find a place in sports events and football games because of the social problems of the audience watching the competitions or games, which sometimes fall into the category of hooliganism. Turkey is one of the countries that should consider this problem to be a serious social problem. Even during 2014 and 2015, a relatively short period of time, there were significant hazardous acts committed by hooligans. In February 2014, one supporter was killed after a game between Liverpool and Arsenal in England; in March 2014, a game between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce was left half-finished because of violent acts in the stadium that caused players in the pitch to believe that they could not leave stadium alive, although they finally left after a few hours; in another incident in March 2014, one supporter was killed after a game between Helsingborg and Djugarden in Sweden; in November 2014, one supporter was killed and 14 supporters were injured before the game between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo in Spain. -

Coronapandemins utbredning har lett till ett såväl annorlunda spelschema som en förlängd, men samtidigt ospelbar försäsong. Enligt oddsen är fjolårets topplag alltjämt favoriter, samtidigt som oddssättarna fått väga in hur den publika frånvaron kommer påverka serien. –MFF är favoriter att vinna, främst utmanade av Bajen och regerande mästarna Djurgården. För första gången på flera år är AIK alltså inte ens topp tre i oddslistan, säger Mattias Wennerkvist, oddsexpert på Betsson. Ett spel på att Malmö vinner Allsvenskan står i oddset 2.35, att jämföra med Hammarby som spelas till 4.00. Där bakom återfinns Djurgården (7.50), AIK (10.00) och IFK Göteborg (15.00). En satsad hundralapp på att IFK Norrköping tar guld ger 20 gånger pengarna, medan BK Häcken står i oddset 25.00. –De större publiklagen kommer troligtvis drabbas negativt av att spela inför tomma läktare. Avsaknaden av publik gör att de tappar mycket av hemmafördelen. Generellt vinner de flesta lag fler hemmamatcher, men utan publik kan det bli mer jämnt mellan borta- och hemmaspel. Däremot kommer klubbarna med breda trupper gynnas av den nya 5-bytesregeln. Oddsen på Malmö och Hammarby har därför sänkts, säger Mattias Wennerkvist. Kalmar (75.00), Elfsborg (80.00), Örebro (150.00), och Helsingborg (150.00) lär enligt spelarna sluta i tabellens mittenskikt. Samtidigt som Sirius, Östersund och Mjällby slåss om att undvika kval. Vad gäller skytteligan slåss Djurgårdens Emir Kujovic (10.00) och Malmös Isaac Kiese-Thelin (10.00), främst utmanade av Hammarbys nyförvärv Paulinho (12.00) och IFK Göteborgs Robin Söder (12.00). -
