Gaudian’s 74 goals are the most by any CAA player since 2005 and are the second-most in CAA single season history. She’s among the national leaders in several offensive categories, including free position shooting, going 27-for-38 at the eight-meter. Gaudian also added 75 draw controls. She was named as an IL Women Media First Team All-American. DEFENSIVE CO-PLAYER OF THE YEAR OLIVIA CONTI | TOWSON SOPHOMORE | DEFENDER | WANTAGH, N.Y./ST. ANTHONY’S Sophomore Olivia Conti is the fifth player in CAA history to be named Defensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. For the second consecutive season, she’s set the CAA single season record for caused turnovers, posting 52 in 2018. She also had 51 ground balls and posted 47 draw controls. Conti added to the offense with three goals and two assists. Conti was named a top-25 nominee for the Tewaaraton, the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic First Team and the IL Women Media All-America Second Team. DEFENSIVE CO-PLAYER OF THE YEAR HALEY WARDEN | JAMES MADISON SENIOR | MIDFIELDER | GLEN MILLS, PA./GARNET VALLEY Senior Haley Warden is the first player in CAA history to have received both a Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honor at any point during her career. Warden, a defensive midfielder, has caused 43 turnovers, picked up 46 ground balls and won 95 draw controls. Her hustle has also helped the Dukes on offense as she’s netted 37 goals and assisted on 11. Warden was named a top-25 nominee for the Tewaaraton and to the IL Women Media All-America Second Team. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR COLLEEN GRADY | DREXEL FRESHMAN | MIDFIELDER | GLEN RIDGE, N.J./GLEN RIDGE Freshman Colleen Grady, who earned spots on the All-CAA Second Team and the All-Rookie Team, is the first Drexel player ever to receive a major award. She led the Dragons in goals (32), assists (24) and points (56) and ranked among the top-10 in the CAA in all three categories. She was named CAA Rookie of the Week three times in 2018. COACH OF THE YEAR SHELLEY KLAES-BAWCOMBE | JAMES MADISON James Madison Head Coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe picked up her fifth CAA Coach of the Year honor after guiding the nationally-ranked Dukes to a 20-1 overall mark, a 6-0 league record and the CAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships. James Madison leads the CAA in every offensive category and is nationally ranked in 11 categories. Klaes-Bawcombe, JMU’s all-time winningest coach, was previously named CAA Coach of the Year in 2005, 2010, 2016 and 2017.
