Dr Chetan Vispute led the talk; explaining the various types of relationship one can have, how to interact w ith patients, the crucial difference between sympathy and empathy; making the interactive session an enlightening experience for the audience! He threw light upon how important it is to have a healthy emotional and mental health along with the physical health. Interpersonal relationships refer to reciprocal social and emotional interactions between the patient and other persons in the environment. Almost every mental disorder is accompanied by problems in this respect. Being in the medical profession, dealing with patients and their families can be taxing and tiring at the same time if we loose control over our emotional well being. The major goal of the CME was to create awareness among ourselves and also to realize that having emotions and feelings does not make us weak but only human. The CME conducted was a huge success among the students as it helped us to relate with various kinds of situations we face or might face as medical professionals.

As the new year dawned on the half-deserted buildings of the DY Patil Girls Hostel, it brought with In Pupper News... it, in addition to hungover residents and the sweet, SIMRAN BHATIJA familiar fragrance of already wrecked resolutions, an adorable (to say the least) Rottweiler puppy. On his very first day, Blackie (is dog racism a thing?) managed to accomplish what every college boy can only dream of - getting every girl to fawn over him and, being the only male resident of the girls' hostel. "A senior doctor at the D Y Patil Hospital dropped off Blackie with me one night, just as I was packing up Jitu's Juice Centre (unarguably the most happening spot on campus) for the day," elaborated Jitu bhaiya, modestly. "I had to take him in, and although I intended to keep him only for a few days, the little monster grew on me and I simply couldn't let him go!" The arrival of Blackie came with its fair share of hostel unrest, as it does with any truly influential figure's arrival. After a long, tedious but heroic judiciary battle of The Hostel V/S Blackie Bhau-ttacharya (representative: Jitu bhaiya, due to the defendant being a minor), Blackie won the case and was given permanent residency in the hostel! Can't say that I wasn't at least a little jealous that he didn't have to submit any documents OR fees, but hearing his overjoyed barks every morning makes it all seem worth it.

12:14 *Ping* As one of our Sepoy caught on a whiff of utterly sensitive information being leaked to our nurturing dementors; ‘Patho? Micro?’ ‘No, Little Boy and Fat Man’ Our rosy little state was under attack! Yet another decade unfurls and as we walk into the era of ‘Vision 2020’ the adulting conundrum still continues. Miles away as we continue with our wild escapades blanketing the results as wild, our mommy and daddy dearest still build onto hopes of a toddler with a silver stethoscope gripping the pinky and trotting into abyss. We either surrender or siege and counteract! The flock chooses to flap flap its wings and point their nozzles against our poor little Private. ‘Et tu, Brutus?’ They campaigned. Attempted an attack. Brutus spoke. Whips of the dementors lashed. White flags raised, we surrendered and crawled back into our beds. After all, maturity comes with age. 23:39 ‘Love, Peace and Happiness’ boomed and New Leaders lived long!

#ohlookanothergirlgang 13 Lecture halls being used as movie theatres!? HRISHIK PATEL AND IPSITA AGARWAL

In the past few months our college has witnessed two movie screenings organised by the Litsoc. So yes, lecture halls are being used as movie theatres. Problem? The aim of organising these screenings is to bring together students and give them a break from their busy daily routines and to somewhat revive the tradition of watching movies as a family like our forefathers used to. The first movie to be screened was the critically acclaimed ‘Dead Poet’s Society'. Screened on 30th August, this gem was the perfect start to this new tradition. The movie revolves around John Keating, an English teacher at a boarding school who teaches his students to question the system and to think and live for themselves. As much as we enjoyed the movie, it also teaches us to think outside the box. This was followed by a screening of ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ on 6th of September. This classic satire is a must watch for medical students everywhere! The lecture hall was filled with echoes of laughter. The movie served as a gentle reminder that a good doctor should establish a compassionate relationship with the patients. Kudos to the students who organised and volunteered for such wonderful events complete with an interval and snacks! Hopefully these screenings will continue receiving this kind of positive response in future. 14

Winning the Goodreads Best Romance and Best Debut of 2019, written by Casey McQuiston, is an escapist fiction about a parallel universe, where America has voted for her 'first woman President', 'the European Monarchy' is heavily entangled with family dramas and two young men, representatives of their countries, coming together in friendship and love. Goddamn! it was one hell of a ride reading this book. The book portrays Good Family Bonding, solid friendships, Clean Politics (no, it's not an oxymoron in this case), genuinely good romance, and a quarter life crisis most young adults will relate to. Also, the queer representation? Present and unapologetic and amazingly written. Like please, I want to live in a world where we have such people as our world leaders. To conclude, the hype is freaking real. Go check this book out!

A mainstream comedy, more than the story it Movie Review: narrates, is about how it narrates that story. In the case of Good Newwz, the content is slightly Good Newwz unusual by Bollywood standards. Two Batra couples - one played by Akshay Kumar & SAHIL MARNE Kareena Kapoor and the second by Diljit Dosanjh & Kiara Advani - wanting to have a child via IVF, have a tragic case of child swap with a twist - the wrong sperm fertilizing the wrong egg!

The movie has humor aspects that try to showcase the humor of the situation, though falls flat in the second half. Director Raj Mehta does a good job of keeping the story true to its genre while also adding in bits of seriousness and heartfelt emotion. Overall... Smart Writing. Fantastic Humour.
