(Unofficial Translation) Royal Address of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, At the Musical Performance of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra under the Royal Patronage, Marking the Auspicious Occasion of the Coronation Ceremony in B.E. 2562 (2019), The National Theatre, Thursday 21st November, B.E. 2562 (2019) --------------------------------- May It Please Your Majesty, It fills me with the greatest pleasure and honour to express, on behalf of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, our heartfelt gratitude that Your Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, has consented to grace this musical performance with your presence today. The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra was founded in B.E. 2525 (1982) as the “Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Club”. At the time then, Your Majesty, in your former royal title of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, graciously granted the Club the privilege of your Royal Patronage. Later, in B.E. 2528 (1985), the Club was registered as a Foundation named “Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn”. It was subsequently granted royal permission to be renamed the “Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra or RBSO” since B.E. 2559 (2016) up to the present. It was on 15th April, B.E. 2561 (2018), that Your Majesty graciously entrusted me with the honour to continue, preserve and build upon the tradition of musical excellence of the RBSO. On my part, I have resolved to be worthy of the trust Your Majesty has placed in me in devoting myself to the task to the fullest extent of my ability. - 2 - I beg Your Majesty's gracious leave in sharing my sentiment and thoughts on how I have been inspired to devote myself to music. Truly, songs and music have been the main influence that embraced and shaped my perceptions and awareness since early childhood. Music made an indelible imprint in my memory until this very day. The greatest figure and source of inspiration for me was my august grandfather, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, whose compositions and great accomplishments in music, both classical and jazz, are recognised and admired all over the world. Indeed, Your Majesty and Grandfather's other descendants have assuredly inherited his talents and love of music. I grew up amidst music, learnt and loved music, cherishing the value of music in bringing happiness to all, in softening our hearts and mind, and, in revealing the innate beauty and goodness of art and culture. I am deeply conscious of the great debt that we, as a nation and people, owe to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej for instilling the love of music in us all, inspiring us on to conserve and develop the art of music as the country’s precious gift for posterity. This RBSO’s performance is being held in honour of Your Majesty, marking the Auspicious Occasion of the Coronation Ceremony, B.E. 2562 (2019). The performance is presented as “Four Royal Orchestra Suites for His Majesty King Rama X”, comprising 4 parts of music which are my compositions, namely, Lost in Mystical Garden, Serenity, The Story about Horse: Helen, Henry, and, Adobe of Metamorphosis. The RBSO will be conducted by Mr. Michel Tilkin, the Belgian conductor and musical director of the RBSO. Also joining us for tonight's performance are three eminent instrumentalists from the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra – Mr. Daniel Froschauer, section leader and violinist, Mr. Ladislav Papp, harpist, and Mr. Robert Nagy, cellist. On this auspicious note, may I now present for Your Majesty's pleasure the performance of the Four Royal Orchestra Suites for His Majesty King Rama X. The RBSO will perform at its very best in recognition of Your Majesty's boundless graciousness of which every member of the Orchestra and of the Foundation are deeply conscious and will always treasure. ------------------------------------------ .
