Paul’s Opinion: Ghandi & McDonalds Weather: We all know that as Christians we are called to stand up for what is right, no matter what the consequences, and, if need be, “turn the other cheek.” Generally, we take this to mean that we should call others out for bullying someone, or for making fun of somebody for whatever reason. These are both good examples of when we should stand up for what is right, but there can be other meanings that we often overlook. Rightness is a term that applies to all situations, whether trivial or significant. In fact, there is a completely different meaning of “stand up for what is Artist of the Month right” that very few people actually acknowledge and act upon. That meaning is one of customer service and the way in which things are done. Let’s look at an example. by Christina Watt You go to McDonalds and order a Classic Lemonade. Instead, you are given a Lemonade Over Ice. Artist: Half Moon Run Not exactly what you ordered, but still lemonade, right? Wrong! In this case, you would not be standing up for Genre: Indie rock/ indie folk what is right. You ordered a Frozen Classic Lemonade, and a Frozen Classic Lemonade is what you shall get! If Half Moon Run is a Canadian band based in Montreal. The you do not address the concern directly at the store, then band consists of Devon Portielje on vocals, guitar and make a point of calling the customer service phone percussion, Conner Molander on vocals, guitar, and number to inform corporate of what happened. You see, so keyboard, Dylan Phillips on vocals, drums, and keyboard, often people get the idea of rightness confused with and Isaac Simons on vocals, percussion, mandolin, keyboard, niceness. Granted, the person who took your order at McDonalds is probably getting paid minimum wage and and guitar. The band is known for their use of multiple hates their job, but they have been employed under the instruments during live performances. On October 23, Half assumption that they will successfully complete their job, Moon Run released their sophomore album, “Sun Leads Me and in making a mistake in your order, have failed to do On.” The album has opens with the song “Warmest so. There are still many songs on “Sun Leads Me On” that change you wish to see in the world.” America so resemble the band's old folk and rock sounds such as the desperately lacks people with motivation who will stand emotional number “Sun Leads Me On” and “Narrow up for what is right in consumer outlets. So make sure things are done right, fill out the surveys, and by doing so Margins.” Each song on the album has a different feel to it you are standing up for what is right. Half Moon Run has not fully broken out on the music scene which makes them very modest and down to earth. by Emma VanDeCar

Released on October 9th by RatPacDune Entertainment, Pan was a box office hit. The film was directed by Joe Wright and written by Jason Fuchs. It is the story of how Peter Pan became the Disney character we all know and love. It begins in an orphanage in London, during World War II. Peter, who is played by Levi Miller, is a 12 year old orphan who is abducted by the infamous Black Beard, Hugh Jackman. Peter is brought to Never Land where he befriends Hook, played by Garrett Hedlund, and Tiger Lily, Rooney Mara. Peter learns more about his mother, who abandoned him when he was very young and whom he only has brief memories of. His mother is played by Amanda Seyfried. As the story unfolds, Peter learns more about himself, his past, and most importantly his future through the bonds he forms and the mysteries he discovers on the island every child dreams of. I give P an an 8 of 10 stars and recommend it to anyone who appreciates the wonder and magic of Disney stories. As it’s said in the movie, “Every legend has its beginning.” SELFIE QUEEN: Teacher of the Month: Mr. Masi Chase Lundin by Hanna Schneider

I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Masi recently and discovered some interesting facts. He grew up in the Rotterdam area of the capital region. He also divulged that he went to the “greatest college in the world”- SUNY Plattsburgh, up in Northern New York. His favorite color is orange, although he did say he used to be more of a “purple kind of guy.” Mr. Masi played a variety of sports growing up including: soccer, basketball, golf and tennis. Basketball is his favorite though, and he finds coaching the elite athletes of Spa Catholic to be a dream come true. He prefers B days over A days, but had no reason as to why. He found the common core math tests to be difficult, but those who prepared and studied would be successful - LOL. He will be coaching JV basketball this year so I encourage everybody to stop by sometime and catch a game.

7 The Quibbler November 5, 2015 75 Years Later….

By Gabrielle Vuillaume

I had the honor of interviewing four incredible women at the seventy-five year reunion for St. Peter’s Academy, (which is now known as Saratoga Central Catholic High School.) Anne Bokan, Marie McManus, Victoria (Vera) MarraCorona, and Mary Sutton were in the graduating class of 1940 at St. Peter’s Academy. Speaking with these women was such a privilege, and I have realized how much times have changed from then, to now.

After graduating from St Peter’s Academy, all four women went on to have wonderful lives. Bokan studied at the college of Mildred Elley and became a secretary, McManus worked in her family’s restaurant, MarraCorona became married (and was also the salutatorian of her graduating class), and Sutton worked as a beautician. All women had children, and most of their children attended St. Peter’s Academy as well.

The stories I heard while having lunch with these women was such a great experience. There were not many sports available for girls, but there were clubs that girls were able to be involved in, such as the French Club, and numerous academic clubs. I was also curious to know which subject each women liked the most in school. McManus and Bokan both liked english, while MarraCorona and Sutton took a liking to math. I also learned that St. Peter’s Academy took place in the parish center, which is right next to where our school is now. The ladies told me that there used to be a big hill (where Saratoga Central Catholic now stands), and that the students would use pieces of cardboard to slide down the hill for fun. At the end of lunch, Marie McManus even sang her school’s Alma Mater to all of us, which I thought was pretty amazing.

Currently, all four women are enjoying their lives, and reminisce on their days of attending St. Peter’s Academy. As a student who now attends Saratoga Central Catholic High School, I’ve learned to appreciate all of the great activities this school has to offer, and to be eager to learn more about the history behind this wonderful school.

I know that seventy five years from now, Saratoga Central Catholic High School will be just as strong as it was in 1940.
