In total, the gift commitment Eof $1.2 million encompassed Football, Baseball, Track & Field/Cross Country, and The Rugby Club, and included both immediate gifts and substantial contributions through Ed’s estate plans. Portions of the gift supported or will support Endowment Funds for Baseball (newly established by Ed’s generosity), Football, and Rugby; other portions underwrote pressing Capital Needs for Track & Field/Cross Country and Baseball; and yet another portion went directly to the Football Annual Fund as a show of support for Coach Al Bagnoli, a special gift during Ed’s 50th reunion. Ed Malmstrom ‘65CC "We don’t have many four sport athletes, so Ed has always been a special part of the family. His gift is no exception. What makes his commitment unique is the breadth of the impact he has made, his willingness to consider Planned Giving options, and his understanding of the importance of building endowment even as we raise money for immediate needs," remarks Katie Benvenuto ‘03CC, ‘12BUS Director of Athletics Development.
