Public university in North , programs are eligible for Post-Graduate Work Permit. Co-op option is available for some programs. is located in one of the best Vancouver areas in a few minutes from main outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking and word-class ski-resorts. Yet, it is one 30 minutes’ drive from Vancouver’s downtown. Tamwood and Capilano University have a formal credit transfer agreement to Hospitality programs.

Required English level completion:

Diploma in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism Co-op Capilano waives English requirements in case, if a student is accepted to Tamwood program:  With both a score of 76% or higher on the Online Admissions test and a score of IELTS 6.0 or higher on the spoken admission assessment done by interview.  With IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 75.

Certificate in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism  No English waiver.

Conditional admissions:

Not available. Students should meet all admission requirements to apply. Credit Transfer application process starts after a student completes Tamwood Career College and receives official transcripts.

Diploma in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism Co-op Students successfully completing this program transfer up to 24 credits:  9 credits – lower level Tourism Management elective courses,  REC 152 Environmental Stewardship,  TOUR 133 Tourism Career Preparation,  TOUR 140 Tourism Co-op Work Term (6 credits),  TOUR 233 Cross Culture Tourism.

Certificate in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism Students successfully completing this program transfer up to 18 credits:  12 credits – lower level Tourism Management elective courses,  REC 152 Environmental Stewardship,  TOUR 233 Cross Culture Tourism.

Application process:

For Diploma in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism Co-op who met English requirements described on the page 1:

1. Book Tamwood Career Program. 2. Apply through https://apply.educationplannerbc.ca/, use Tamwood booking as a proof of English (Tamwood Enrollment and English verification letters), and pay the non-refundable application fee. Upload scanned documents to the Education Planner BC system. Wait about 1-2 weeks. 3. Receive the letter of offer and pay the deposit. 4. Apply for a credit transfer https://www.capilanou.ca/admissions/apply-to-capu/transfer-credit/ at least 6-7 weeks before the term start date. 5. Receive the Letter of Acceptance. 6. Complete Tamwood Career program. Tamwood team will send the original transcripts to Capilano. 7. Students will receive a proof of a credit transfer from Capilano. 8. Register for courses at least 6 weeks before the term start date. 9. Pay remaining 1st term tuition fees 2-3 weeks before the term start date.

For Certificate in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism students or students who did not meet English requirements described on the page 1:

1. Book Tamwood Career Program. 2. Apply through https://apply.educationplannerbc.ca/ and pay the non-refundable application fee, in case if a student met English requirements.
