FEDERATIONS.......................................................................................................................................... 28 2 BACKGROUND This year marks the third edition of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Finals Series. The PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series is a national knockout competition for the first placed clubs of Australia’s eight NPL competitions. The Premiers within each Member Federation NPL division progress to the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series. Five Member Federations competed in the inaugural NPL Finals Series in 2013, with Sydney United 58 FC defeating South Hobart in the Grand Final to be crowned the first National Premier Leagues Champions of Australia. The following year the competition expanded to eight entrants, which also saw PlayStation 4 officially unveiled as the naming rights partner of not only the Final Series but each respective National Premier Leagues competition run by each of the eight Member Federations around the country. FORMAT The PlayStation 4 NPL 2015 Finals Series will take place over a three week period consisting of four Elimination Finals and two Semi Finals before culminating in the Grand Final. Every match in the PlayStation 4 NPL 2015 Finals Series is sudden-death, with extra time and penalties to be held if required. The makeup and grouping of the Elimination Finals has been based on geographic location. As such, the Member Federations coupled together are Northern NSW Football and Football Queensland, Capital Football and Football NSW, Football Federation Tasmania (FFT) and Football Federation Victoria (FFV), and Football West with Football Federation South Australia (FFSA). Each year, the host Member Federation within the Elimination Finals shall alternate to provide all Federations with the opportunity to host every second year. In order to determine the host Federation for the Semi Finals and Grand Final, the following points system will apply at the conclusion of each stage of the Finals Series: Win within regulation time = 3 points Win during extra time = 2 points Win in penalty shootout = 1 point Goals scored (excluding penalty shootouts) = 3 points Goals conceded (excluding penalty shootouts) = -1 point Yellow cards = -1 point Red cards = -3 points FINALS SERIES STRUCTURE The PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Premiers (1st at the conclusion of the home and away season) of each Member Federation will qualify for the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series. The winner of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series will be crowned PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Champions of Australia. Furthermore, the PlayStation 4 NPL 2015 Champions will also receive automatic entry into the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup 2016. Welcome to the 2019 FFA Cup South Australian Qualifying Final between Adelaide Olympic and Adelaide City here at Coopers Stadium. The winner will join Adelaide United FC and Campbelltown City SC in the FFA Cup Round of 32. Since the inaugural year of the FFA Cup competition in 2014, the ‘Magic of the Cup’ has captured the imagination of local clubs and football supporters alike. This year we saw a record 54 teams from South Australia compete in the competition. The exploits of Elizabeth Downs Soccer Club in beating MetroStars in the quarter finals, epitomised that anything is possible in a cup competition This full day of cup final action will also feature the FFSA Under 18 and Reserve Federation Cup Finals. Good luck to Adelaide Olympic and Adelaide City as well as Croydon Kings and Adelaide Comets who will compete for the Reserve Federation Cup and Raiders and MetroStars in the Under 18’s Federation Cup. On behalf of FFSA Board and Staff, I hope you enjoy this great event. Yours sincerely, Michael Carter Chief Executive Officer Football Federation SA Match Preview The largest number of competing teams to participate in the FFA Cup South Australian Qualifying Rounds will culminate on Saturday at Coopers Stadium, as Adelaide Olympic and Adelaide City battle it out for a place on the national stage, where a potential clash with Hyundai A-League opposition awaits. Adelaide Olympic will return to the hallowed turf at Hindmarsh for the first time since 2004 as they look to secure a first Cup title in their 40-year existence, while the ever-present Adelaide City will look to add to their illustrious winning history in their third Cup Final appearance in five years.
