JULY 26, 1991 NOTES ON PREPARATION OF THE NONRADIOACTIVE DANGEROUS WASTE LANDFILL DANGEROUS WASTE INVENTORY

1. The file copy of the Nonradioactive Dangerous Waste Landfill (NRDWL) disposal records for the operational years 1975 through 1985 were reviewed and assembled into waste disposal packets. 3. A waste disposal packet number is composed of the letter P (for packet), the last two digits of the year in which disposal took place, and a consecutively assigned three digit number starting with 001 for the first packet of each year (i.e. P75-001 or P83- 001)

2. Generally, ' the disposal record packages contain information on the waste that was disposed only at the NRDWL. However, some waste disposal events have final disposal locations other than NRDWL, have unconfirmed disposal locations or have two or more final (partial) disposal locations. Other final disposal locations consist of the 2727-S/200W Offsite Staging Facility, United Nuclear Industries Landfill, Hanford Solid Waste Landfill, Hanford sanitary trenches, 200W burial area, or unidentified offsite locations. Retained in this document are those disposal events that identify the NRDWL as a final, partial or a uncertain disposal location. All disposal events having been identi f ied as having been disposed of at an other facility either entirely or partially have been forwarded to that particular facility. 3. Records documenting disposal for a given year were assigned page I. . numbers in the initial submittal of the file copy, "Manifest 11 Records for Year 1975 , on February 14, 1991. Records are numbered - consecutively for each year beginning with 0000001. Generally all documents relating to a single disposal event are arranged in 1- consecutive order. Occasionally, however, disposal packets contain related documents out of consecutive order. Some pages are related to more than one disposal event and appear in more than one waste disposal packet. 4. A cross reference table exists for this document which identifies the packet number, di sposal date, file copy page numbers (from the original submittal), final disposal location, and trench number. 5. The waste inventory consists of a listing of the chemical waste placed in the NRDWL. The inventory is organized by trench number, date of disposal, quantity, type, and disposal packet number of the original disposal records. A comment column is provided and indicates whether the waste is regulated under WAC 173-303 (R), or of uncertain regulatory status (U). The comment column also contains numbers in parentheses referring to comments listed at the end of the inventory. This revised inventory presents deletions in strikeout text, and insertions in redline (shaded) text. The remaining text is unchanged from the original inventory.
