Its job responsibility includes fundamental and applied research, Organizer frontier technology research, major key common technology research and other public interests oriented scientific research on biogas, other rural renewable energy, rural energy 1 at large, rural environment management, and rural ecological restoration. It is also engaged in relevant technology extension and training. BIOMA has been committed to knowledge dissemination and technical transfer through training, demonstration projects and cooperative research. As the Occupation appraisal station for Special Agricultural Occupation, BIOMA has held domestic training courses for more than 3,000 Chinese administrators and technicians in the field of rural energy from 32 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions (including Tai Wan) in China. Besides, BIOMA has organized 61 sessions of international training sponsored by the Chinese government or international organizations for more than 1,300 technical professionals and managerial officials from more than 100 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Meanwhile, BIOMA experts have been dispatched to Indonesia, Rwanda, Guinea and other developing countries for demonstrative plants, including household biogas digesters and biogas plants for livestock and poultry farms and agricultural waste treatment in Cuba, Tunisia, Tanzania, Ethiopia and etc. In addition, BIOMA is also actively engaged in South-South and South-North Cooperation for technical transfer and equipment import and export by joint research and project construction. In 2014, BIOMA was disseminated as the Reference Center for Biogas Research and Training by UN-FAO, working as a technical strength, policy consultation backup in the field of biogas for FAO members, and an active participant in the biogas programs of FAO member countries. Entrusted by The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA) will hold a “Training Course on Biogas Technology for African English-speaking Countries in 2015” (Working Language: English, 45 days) from July 14 to August 27, 2015. The objective of this training course is to update participants’ knowledge about Chinese Culture, Chinese Language, About China, Chinese Natural Resources and Environment, Biogas Technology including design and construction of rural household digesters, fermentation processes, anaerobic microbiology, biogas hygienic effects, Training integrated utilization and post-treatment technology of digestate, high quality processing Course Content technology of wastes, biogas appliances, rural domestic sewage facility, digester management and biogas supply, straw biogas plants, monitoring and evaluation of hygienic effects on treating excreta with biogas digesters, electricity power generation technology fueled with biogas, experimental cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms, start-up of anaerobic fermentation experiment, batch fermentation experiments for biogas production, dynamic fermentation experiments for biogas production. Design, construction and field practices of household digesters are arranged during the training course. Study tours to demonstrative projects will also be scheduled in villages near Chengdu and other places of China. 2 .
