Individual Note She was born on 21 February 1881 at Tombreane, Co , Ireland, the daughter of James and Margaret Allwell (née Maher). Her birth was registered on 5 March 1881 by her father.

She was baptised on 22 February 1881 at St Brigid Church, Tomacork, Co Wicklow. The Parish Baptism Register records the Rev. J Sinnott and Kate Hennessy as being her godparents.

She is recorded in the 1901 Census of Ireland living at Tombreane, Co Wicklow at the home of Helena Jane Higginbotham. Household Return Form A (Number B1) records her name as Bridget Alwell; being the Servant of the Head of Family; Roman Catholic; able to Read & Write; aged 20; Female; Cook Domestic Servant; Not Married; and born in . This was a farmhouse with several farm outbuildings.

She is recorded in the 1911 Census of Ireland living at Raheengraney, Co Wicklow with her husband James O'Neill in his uncle Michael Downes house. Household Return Form A (Number B16) records her as name as Bridget Neill; being the Daughter in Law of the head of family; Catholic; able to Read & Write; Female aged 30; Married; and born at Tomacork, Co Wicklow. This was a two roomed house with a Piggery and a Fowl House.

She died on 5 September 1922 at Raheengraney, Co Wicklow. The Death Certificate records her name as Bridget O'Neill; married; age 34 yrs; a Labourer's Wife; and the certified cause of death as being Erysipelas of Head 6 days and Meningitis 3 days. Her death was registered on 16 September 1922 by her husband James O'Neill, who was present at the death.

She was buried on 7 September 1922 at St Brigid Church, Clonegal, Co Carlow.

Note on Marriage to James O'NEILL James O'Neill and Bridget Allwell were married on 9 August 1910 at St Brigid Church, Tomacork, Co Wicklow. The Marriage Certificate records James surname as Neil and being aged 24; a Bachelor; resident at Balingate; and his father as John Neil, Smith. It records Bridget's surname as Alwell and being aged 29; a Spinster; resident at Tombreane; and her father as James Alwell, Labourer. Michael O'Neill (James's brother) and Mary Brennan witnessed their marriage.

After their marriage, they lived in a cottage next door to the school in Raheengraney, Co Wicklow for most of their married life, apart from a short spell in 1915 when they lived at 29 Lower Clanbrassil Street, . They had returned to live at Raheengraney by September 1917. Bridget died in the cottage in 1922.
