18 19 Transport Service

La Côte International School provides a roundtrip bus transport service to and from its Campus. The service is run completely in-house by certified bus drivers employed by the school. At the beginning of the school year, a letter with all relevant information will be sent to families using the school bus service.

Bus Services Input from families is welcome and will be taken into account whenever feasible. Whenever possible, routes are planned to limit any child’s journey to a maximum of 1 hour. This may not always be possible for locations in heavy traffic areas or longer distances from the school. Stops are chosen carefully to ensure safety as well as convenience. Traffic flows and the presence of safe parking areas may influence the location of the bus stop.

Ad-hoc The school bus service is intended to serve children who are registered to use it regularly throughout the year. As an additional service to non-registered children, it is possible to request an ‘ad-hoc’ booking, in case parents are occasionally unable to transport their child. Please see page 18 for price details of occasional bus service bookings.

No changes of bus routes will be made for these ad-hoc requests, and all usual safety provisions apply to ad-hoc transport arrangements. Should parents wish to book a place, please contact the transport office by email at least 48 hours in advance at transport@ international-school.org.

Health and safety Our buses are designed and insured to take children from three (3) years of age and have suitable seatbelts and booster seats as required. Parents are not permitted to take their own seats on the bus. Use of safety equipment on the buses will be strictly enforced, as will appropriate behaviour while children are on the bus. Drivers employed to work for our school are all professionally qualified drivers who meet all legal Swiss and Nord Anglia Education standards for best practice. They receive annual professional development and training including First Aid.
