Transfer Student Experience Will Be a 3 Hr. Credit

- Dewey Knight says there will be a new course entitled EDHE 305 for transfer students.
- “Transfer Student Experience” will be a 3 hr. credit.
- 7 sections
- 1 section will be for a LuckyDay hybrid online class
- Dr. Alice Myatt discussed the new minor entitled Professional Writing.
- Created in response to students’ request
- Goes beyond required writing courses
- Pre-requisites: WRIT 100 or WRIT 101, WRIT 102 or LIBA 102, WRIT
250, WRIT 310, WRIT 350, and WRIT 410

- Degree Audit
- UM Degree Audit was implemented in 2008
- System was cumbersome and functionality was inadequate
- Recently enhanced in 2011 in order to make it more user-friendly
- Custom interface was added in 2013, which included the option of a report that showed “Degree Progress”
- The most recent change occurred this year (2014) with the addition of “Degree Completion Percentage.”
- The site has had 65,000 hits (20,000 employees and 45,000 students)
- Projected uses for Degree Audit: new gateway to graduation and administrative reporting for tracking satisfactory
- Should be able to be used to track degree progress and graduation stats.
- Should be used for non-academic reporting for the use of various departments/office on campus.
- While students can change to other catalogues/majors, this change is unofficial. In order to officially change, it must be changed for them.
-How to Change Catalogues:
1. “New Overview” tab
2. Find Major/Minor, Catalogue
- Color codes include green highlighted courses as courses that have been completed, and courses that are highlighted in white as unfinished courses.
- “Academic Work” tab includes earned hours, can be used as unofficial transcript
- Will show “Forgiveness” in “Academic Work,” but not on degree audit.
