COMMUNITY AWARDS

It is time to welcome nominations for the annual Bracken Ridge and Surrounding Suburbs Community Awards being supported jointly by the Bracken Ridge Central Lions Club andCr Amanda Cooper.

Members of the local community are asked to nominate those around them who ‘go out of their way’ to make our neighbourhoods a better place to live.

The Bracken Ridge and Surrounding Suburbs Community Awards are awarded to recognise group and individual contributions to the local community in four (4) categories.

There are three individual awards:

-Young Achiever Award (18 years of under)

-Best Neighbour

-Individual Member of a Community Group / Organisation / Church Group

And one group award:

-Community Group / Organisation / Church Group

ELIGIBILITY IN CATEGORIES:

All nominees must be an Australian citizen and reside within Bracken Ridge and surrounding areas.

PLEASE NOTE:

Members of Lions Australia or staff of Brisbane City Council are not eligible for these awards.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Please tell us in 1000 words or less how this person or organisation has made an outstanding contribution to the local community and why you believe they are deserving of an award.

Supporting documentation that you feel will assist the judges in making their decision may also be provided with your nomination form. Please attach copies, do NOT send originals.

JUDGING PROCESS:

Nominations will be reviewed by an independent judging panel. The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

PRIVACY POLICY:

Bracken Ridge Central Lions Club and the Bracken Ridge Ward office will take all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the privacy of individuals having regard to the following:

-Respect and protect individuals’ personal information

-Only use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected

-Only disclose personal information to external organisations where it contributes to the public good

Young Achiever Award / This gives the opportunity for a youth under 18 years of age, to be recognised for their achievements within the community through charity work, sporting success or educational excellence.
Individual Member of a Community Group / Organisation /Church Group / This gives the opportunity for local groups such as Sandbag, Church Groups, Jabiru, etc. to single out one individual who manages to consistently give of their time and energy to those around them.
Community Group / Organisation / Church Group / This gives the opportunity for members of the
community to show their appreciation and to offer
recognition to the groups and organisations assisting within the surrounding suburbs.
Best Neighbour / This gives residents in the local community an opportunity to thank and recognise neighbours whose help and caring assistance makes a difference in other people’s lives.
