The Tree of life / We all have a creative side and one which we might never have
explored in this unique way. The course boosts confidence whilst
working in a small group with others who might be experiencing
similar problems. Your small group will work collaboratively to
produce a piece of work called –
The Tree of Life. This will be a unique piece of work which has
grown from personal exploration. Set goals whilst improving your well-being and
ability to express yourself. Lifts
your mood and inspires you.
Free / Wed 6th April / 6 half day sessions spread over 6 weeksin the morning.
Building Confidence / Taking action to be confident will help you overcome your self-limiting beliefs, fears, bad habits and negative patterns whilst developing new positive ones. Feeling confident is important because the way you present yourself and how confident you appear to others will determine how you will be perceived. We all deserve to be happy and successful and taking action to develop your confidence is the way to get you there.FREE / Tuesday 26th April / 4 half day sessions delivered over 4 weeks in the afternoon.
Mindfulness Awareness / This well respected interactive and
informative course gives you a chance to have an understanding of techniques to be ‘in the moment’ and how the use of them will benefit your everyday life. Free / Wednesday 27th April / 6 half day sessions over six weeks in the afternoons.
The Leveller / This, interactive course delivered by the Women’s Centre has been designed to
support anyone living with depression, anxiety and difficulty managing their mood. It helps us reduce worry, lift our mood, offers a variety of coping strategies and helps us look forward to the
future. Free / Thursday 28th April / 5 half day sessions delivered over 5 weeks in the afternoons.
An Introduction to Understanding Personality Disorders / An insightful and essential introduction to this complex and often misunderstood diagnosis. Delivered by staff from Personality Disorder Managed Clinical Network & Rossendale & Hyndburn CMHT.FREE / Thursday 12th May / 1 half day session in the afternoon.
Dementia Friends / Dementia Awareness – delivered as part of National Dementia Awareness Week / This informative session introduces you to the issues of living with dementia and
will equip you with the
knowledge to become a Dementia Friend. Time will also be given to discuss how this can be used in a practical way within our
own communities.
Delivered by the chair of Dementia Friendly
Rossendale. Free / Tuesday 17th May / 1 half day session in the morning.
New Beginnings / A one day course designed to tackle the symptoms of depression, anxiety, low mood drawing on elements of CBT, Mindfulness, awareness and understanding.FREE / Thursday 19th May / 1 full day session.
Understanding the Benefits System / An informative session will give you a valuable insight into the benefits system
and how to navigate the current changes. Delivered by staff from the CAB this is
aFree course. / Thursday 26th May / Half day session in the afternoon.
Beginners Printmaking / This class is aimed at those people with little or no experience of
printing or art. The day will introduce students to Monoprinting, Colograph and very
basic Lino cut Printing. All materials and equipment is
provided. £30.00 (£15.00 Unwaged) Please bring a packed
lunch, drinks provided. / Two groups starting either Monday 25th April or Saturday 30th May / Full day sessions 9:30 – 3:30
Intermediate Printmaking / This class is aimed at people with some experience of printing or those who have attended the basic printing class. The day will consist of Lino cut and Wood cut printing. All materials will be
provided. A basic set of lino cut tools is included in the class fees. £30.00 (£15.00 Unwaged) Please
bring a packed lunch, drinks provided. / Two groups starting either Monday 2nd May or Saturday 7th May / Full day sessions 9:30 – 3:30
Advanced Printmaking / This class is intended for people with a good grounding in printing
or people who have attended the intermediate printing course. The main focus of the day is multi-coloured
printing. All materials will be provided. £30.00 (£15.00

Gardening to Enhance Sleep / Delivered at Stubbylee Community Greenhouses, this course will cover the theories and
research around working with nature
to restore healthy sleep patterns,
improve well- being and maintain our
physical health. We will also study the
beneficial properties of herbs and plants
which aid a restful night’s sleep. Free / Thursday 28th April / Half day session 9:30 – 12:00
Gardening to Alleviate Depression / Delivered at Stubbylee Community
Greenhouses,
this course we will look at the effects
depression can have on our motivation
and mood and how we can alleviate sinking into deeper depression by building healthy routines in the garden, growing plants which lift our mood and studying which herbs can be used to help us cope.

Gardening to Alleviate Anxiety and Depression / Delivered at Stubbylee Community
Greenhouses,
this course we will study why we become
anxious, the effect this has on our bodies
and thoughts. How creating or being in
gardens helps to make us feel calmer,
improve our focus and provide us with a
healthy activity which will reduce anxiety.
