John Mackenzie, I Have Been Connected with the Club Approaching 49 Or 50 Years Both As a Fan and As a Volunteer
File: BMD John Mackenzie complete Duration: 1:10:40 Date: 04/08/2016 Typist: 685 START AUDIO John Mackenzie: John Mackenzie, I have been connected with the club approaching 49 or 50 years both as a fan and as a volunteer. In the early days of Stevenage Town I was actually on the management committee of Stevenage Town. Interviewer: Can you talk to us about the beginning of the football club, what was that like? John Mackenzie: The beginning I moved to Stevenage from Scotland because of my father’s work back in 1962, as far as I can remember that was the date. I remember Stevenage hadn’t moved from where the station is now to Broadhall Way. I remember coming to the very first game here I think it was against Canterbury City in the Southern League, I believe that was in about ‘63. I have been connected and coming to the games ever since apart from the obvious seasons when there was no club here because Stevenage Town and Stevenage Athletic both went bankrupt. Mr [Revolter 0:01:18] dug the pitch up, so for X number of years the ground lay derelict until a group of fans started up Stevenage Borough and took up Stevenage Borough. I have been coming from the very beginning when we played on King George’s playing field until today. 1 Interviewer: Can you remember the old ground next to the railway station, can you describe to me what that looked like? John Mackenzie: I can vaguely remember it. When I moved to Stevenage the new ground had been built, but obviously nobody played on it until the ground settled down. -

Event Detection Using Wikipedia
Event Detection using Wikipedia Eirik Emanuelsen Martin Rudi Holaker Master of Science in Computer Science Submission date: June 2013 Supervisor: Kjetil Nørvåg, IDI Norwegian University of Science and Technology Department of Computer and Information Science Task Description Analysing huge text based corpora has been a popular field for research, and recently Wikipedia has become a popular corpus to study. This project aims to make a scalable system with web interface for exploring the Wikipedia page view statistics combined with page edit statistics and try to detect popularity spikes. The system can be extended with other features, for example exploring relations and grouping of entities. I II Preface This is the final thesis of our Master’s degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Computer and Information Science. It has been prepared over a period of 20 weeks during the spring of 2013. This thesis is within the field of Data and Information Management, and presents a system ca- pable of performing event detection on Wikipedia. We are very grateful to our two academic supervisors; Professor Kjetil Nørvåg (NTNU) and Associate Professor Krisztian Balog (University in Stavanger). During the development of the thesis you have provided guidance that has been invaluable for the final result. Thank you very much for your support, advisory and involvement in the process. Martin Rudi Holaker and Eirik Emanuelsen Trondheim, June 2013 III IV Abstract The amount of information on the web is ever growing, and analysing and making sense of this is difficult without specialised tools. The concept of Big Data is the field of processing and storing these enormous quantities of data. -

File: BMD Harry Gibbs.mp3 Duration: 0:13:52 Date: 11/08/2016 Typist: 727 START AUDIO Interviewer: Can we just start by you stating your name? Harry Gibbs: It’s Harry Gibbs. Interviewer: What’s your involvement with Stevenage Football Club? Harry Gibbs: I’m a programme seller for the football club. I also have attended matches since I was a young kid, about ten, from ‘98 season onwards. Interviewer: Do you remember the first match that you came to? Harry Gibbs: The first match was, actually, away. It was a game in the FA Cup against Birmingham and I was really young and quite small at the time. I only have two standout memories from that game. One was getting stuck behind a line of coaches that had no idea where they were going and we ended up queuing outside some random mosque in Birmingham and we had no idea where we were. I think, eventually, we managed to find our way to the ground and I only have one memory of that. We had a really good player at the time called Barry Hayles, who went on to do really well, who went on to much bigger and better things and I just remember him standing out for me and being a standout player. My first game at home, which was, obviously, the first game we played against Newcastle in the FA Cup, the one that got all the big media interest. My first memory from that was just ___[0:01:01]. I was quite small at the time so I could only just see above some of the heads on the East Terrace. -
