  • Jay Electronica Exhibit C Album Download Jay Electronica
jay electronica exhibit c album download Jay Electronica. Timothy Elpadaro Thedford, better known by his fans as Jay Electronica, is an American rapper born on September 19, 1976. He originates from from the Magnolia Projects in New Orleans, Louisiana. He produced the first track, "Queens Get the Money", on the 2008 Nas album 'Untitled'. The unconventional nature of much of his music, and the lack of conventional release methods for that music, has since 2007 made him the object of much attention. He was perhaps best known for the piece of music Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge), until the release of the Just Blaze-produced track "Exhibit C" in late 2009. Announced Friday, November 12, 2010, Jay is an official member of Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Jay Electronica has yet to release a full-length album but has released two official singles to date, "Exhibit A" and "Exhibit C," which won a Sucker Free Summit Award for Instant Classic. His music so far has been made available through the internet, either through being leaked to what URB magazine describes as "obscure web forums", or through an appearing and disappearing MySpace page (currently two seem to be in existence, at /jayelect and at /jayelectronica). Erykah Badu has questioned whether he ever will release, in her words, "actual albums". from New Orleans, LA he has lived in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Denver, and Detroit, where he recorded his Style Wars-era music with several J Dilla beats, meeting the producer subsequently to ask for permission to use the recordings as a demo.

  • Introduction This Memorandum Is in Reference to the NYC Parks
Introduction This memorandum is in reference to the NYC Parks Concession located at the Dyckman Marina, 348 Dyckman Street, Fort Washington Park, Manhattan. The concession has been operated since July 2012 under the name “La Marina” by the entity Manhattan River Group LLC. When the troublesome prior concession at Dyckman Marina was terminated in 2006 after a major NYPD drug bust, the community worked with the Parks Department to identify two uses that would be acceptable for the context of the site and provide opportunity for public enjoyment of the parkland in a manner that would attract investment and provide revenue. The two uses identified were for a restaurant and a marina. In 2007 the Parks Department issued a detailed RFP to this effect. After evaluating bids, a License Agreement was signed with Manhattan River Group in 2009 and reconstruction of the site was begun. However, since its opening in 2012 the Parks Department has allowed the concession to operate dramatically differently from what was initially presented to the public and subsequently approved by the Community Board. Furthermore the concession has consistently operated in violation of its License Agreement. In plain language, what was intended to be a public access restaurant, cafe and marina has become a private access nightclub and concert venue open until 1 am every summer night (even Sundays). In doing so, it has caused serious qualityoflife issues for the surrounding residential neighborhood of Inwood, most notably but not limited to traffic and noise. For three summers, residents of Inwood have brought the numerous issues relating to the operation of this concession to the attention of the Parks Department, Community Board 12, other city agencies (notably DOT and NYPD), the borough president’s office, the mayor’s office, local city councillors, state assembly members and state senators, and other officials.

JULY 2010 77 ay electronica lives in a third-floor walk-up around the corner from a street lined with bodegas, liquor stores, and hair salons in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, one of New York City’s last neighborhoods untouched by gen- trification. Barefoot, wearing a white polo T-shirt and gray sweatpants, the rapper rum- mages through what he calls his “bedroom- slash-studio-slash-cave,” i.e. a small, nonde- script office next to the living room. He lights a cigarette, takes one drag, then leaves it to burn down in the ashtray. Tiny scars cover his fingers. “+ god –” is tattooed cryptically behind his left ear. His girlfriend, the neo-soul superstar Erykah Badu, de- scribed him thusly on his 2007 mixtape Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge): “[He’s] a weird-looking cat. His ears are kind of pointy. He has a square head. He looks like he’s an alien…but in a very beautiful way. Like some kind of mythical creature who would have a bow and arrow on his back and wings under that bow and arrow.” “IT’S A REBEL- Jay eventually settles onto a futon, and I ask him to explain the lyrics of his breathtaking 2009 single “Exhibit C,” which hint that his path is des- tined.
