Welcome to the CZ-USA 2020 Fall Classic. We hope you find the 12 Civil War inspired stages of this year’s match both fun and challenging.

And this year’s sponsors

Support our sport’s sponsors and let them know you appreciate their supporting us.

And the match would not be possible without the volunteers that plan, build and run the match each year. Be sure and let them know you appreciate their work.

Travel safely and we look forward to you seeing at the range. Match Briefing

Please check in at the registration desk on the morning you are shooting before the shooters meeting. Here are the stages each squad will start on:

Squad Stage Bay 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 5 5 6 6 6 7 7 7 8 8 and 9 8 9 10 9 10 11 11 11 12 12

If you are shooting on Friday, please check in at the registration desk and sign up for a squad. We will announce what stage each squad starts on at Friday’s shooters meeting.

SCORING

Again this year we will be using PractiScore electronic scoring. The range Wi-Fi network is named copsrange. There is no password required. If you have Practiscore on your phone or tablet you can sync with the device named copsmaster for the scores as they become available. Generally, you will only be able to “see” the Wi-Fi network when you are on the lower bays in sight of the stat shack. The devices the ROs will be using are on a different network so you will not be able to sync with them. Also, only a limited number of devices can connect at the same time, so after you have obtained the scores, please disconnect from the Wi-Fi so your fellow competitors can connect. The range Wi-Fi does not have Internet access so you probably do not want to stay connected anyway. We will be using paper “receipts” printed for each shooter. There is no chrono this year, so we have 12 “shoot” stages.

CLASS AND CATEGORY RECOGNITION:

Class and category awards are by division.

A category must have at least five competitors before a plaque is awarded for that title (Appendix A2 of the USPSA Handgun Competition Rules).

Class awards will follow category criteria for minimum participation per class as found in Appendix A2 of the USPSA Handgun Competition Rules. We award first place if there are at least 5 competitors in the class. Second and third place are awarded if there are 6 and 7 competitors, respectively.

Awards have to be prepared in advance based on the entries we have and can anticipate. Late division and class changes can change award eligibility and we may not have a plaque for all the winners. If you are unable to attend the awards ceremony on Sunday, please ask a friend to pick it up for you or we will keep unclaimed awards at the range and you can pick it up at a later match. We are unable to ship awards.

Raffle

This year we have multiple CZ guns and a number of other prizes that will be raffled on Sunday morning. Each competitor entered in the match will receive a raffle entry. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

Important!

You must be present to win. The guns have to be transferred on Sunday. If you are not going to be at the range for the awards, you can give your ticket(s) to someone who can collect your prize and, if a gun, have it transferred to them. You are responsible for obtaining the prize from your proxy. There is a limit of winning one gun per competitor. In addition to the general prizes we will have a special raffle for an IMI AR-15. This is a special commemorative rifle for Officer Michael Mosher. Officer Mosher was killed in the line of duty last May. Many of you may know his wife, Corrine, a 3-gun competitor. Proceeds from this raffle will benefit Officer Mosher’s family.

You do NOT have to be present to win this gun!

Match Policies

THESE POLICIES ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE RULES. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE CONTENTS OF THIS MATCH PUBLICATION. QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THE SHOOTERS MEETING PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT.

COLD RANGE: COPS is a cold range. Firearms will not be handled anywhere on the range except in designated safety areas or under the direct supervision of match staff. Handling firearms in parking areas is unsafe gun handling.

SAFETY AREAS: The range is equipped with a number of safety areas to bag and holster guns, for dry fire practice and gun repair, etc. No ammunition may be handled in any safety area.

RULES: The match rules are found in the current edition of the USPSA rule book.

OBEY YOUR RO’s: Range officers are here to assist you in completing a safe shooting contest. Please comply with their requests. Please bring any issues to the attention of the Range Master.

SET STEEL AND TAPE TARGETS: Competitors are expected to stay together as a squad to tape, set steel, and help maintain efficiency on each stage.

LOST BRASS: All brass is donated to the staff.

ALCOHOL: Alcohol and recreational drugs may not be consumed anywhere on the range during the match. Competitors violating this policy will be disqualified and asked to leave the range.

DRESS CODE: Practical shooting is a sport. The match director will be the final arbiter of dubious taste.

INSPECTION: When the entire squad is assembled, the written stage briefing will be read. This will be followed by an inspection and question period. Shooters may negotiate obstacles only during this inspection period or while the previous shooter’s targets are being scored. Early inspection is permitted by the squad next scheduled to shoot a stage, providing that the previous squad is finished, you turn in your score sheet to the range officer prior to inspection, and time permits.

RANGE OPENING: You may inspect the stages when they are available, but you may not activate, set, or reset any moving targets or activated props.

EYE AND HEARING PROTECTION: All competitors must wear eye and hearing protection during the course of fire. Eye protection is required to be worn by everyone while on the range. If you do not have adequate eye protection, please see the range master.

MATCH SCORING: The championship will use Practiscore. If you have scoring questions, first check your math, then take your score card copy to Stats to remedy the problem.

SQUADS: Squads for Saturday shooters are set up in Practiscore. Changes must be approved prior to the match start by Stats. While we try and accommodate changes if possible, squad sizes cannot be expanded.

ENTRY CHANGES: Match registration closes at 12pm, September 30. At that time the match registration will be downloaded. You will not be able to make any changes on Practiscore.com. If you want to change your division you need to let the stats official know by 7:30am the day of the match.

CLASSES: Class standings will be updated from USPSA on September 30 after the last classification update by USPSA. If your USPSA membership is expired your class will be changed to X and you will not be able to compete for score. The check in sheet will reflect the class you specified when you entered, not what is updated from USPSA. If you are unsure what class you are in, just ask at registration.
