in this issue >>> By: Mike Till February has many reasons to feel self-concious. First, it is the most commonly mispronounced month of the year. Many people still forget about that first “r” in February. Let’s give this month some respect and emphasize that “r” shall we. Second, it is the shortest month of the year with 28 days. Every four years we give February another day and guess what… it’s still the shortest month. Kind of like when my Mom puts on high heels. She may gain a few inches… but she is still the shortest one in the family. Finally, February is the month of Valentine’s Day. Not saying that Valentine’s Day is bad, just hated by millions of singles who have to put up with the lovey-dovey, extreme PDA couple in the booth next to them at The Olive Garden. All they wanted was some soft, buttery, warm breadsticks! There is one glorious plus side to February. It is the month when Poor Farmer’s Schedule of Events is released. Every February Poor Farmer’s campers get their first look at all the great times they are going to have for the rest of the year. You get to see when the Flea Market dates are, BINGO events, the Annual Cruise-in, The Golf Cart Rodeo, Grandparent’s Weekend, Halloween, and much, much more. Did you know Mike is hosting a Golf Outing in April? Well… you do now. Click on the link below to transport yourself directly to the Poor Farmer’s RV 2021 Schedule of Events. There you will find a magical world of fun and excitement… ahh, who am I kidding… it’s an online PDF with dates and times. The magical world of fun and excitement is at Poor Farmer’s. Let’s Go Camping! That’s Right! Poor Farmer’s RV needs some help. We are currently looking for a Parts Store Representative and a Service Technician. For those interested, please pick-up an employee application at the parts store, but most importantly, fill it out and return it. As a small family business, we are able to focus on customer service above all else. Therefore, we will need friendly, hard working people to apply. If you or someone you know is looking for a new opportunity, Poor Farmer’s might just be the place for you. I have always wondered how well I could score if I were able to have a mulligan for every shot. Now we all can find the answer to that question thanks to Mike’s 1-Man-Scramble. Golfer’s from all around will be scrambling to get in on this unique format. If you are a C player on the first shot; you will, more than likely, be a B or A player on your second shot… or just twice as frustrated. Either way, you get double the golf than what you would normally get. How can you argue with that? There will be some side money flying around, like a 50/50 drawing, prize money and free will donations to Mike’s pocket cash. We will also have dinner and a major B.S.ing session after the round. Sign up in the parts store today and mark your calendar for April 18th. Groupings will be randomly drawn. We can pair up golfers if need be. Triple-Bogey max per hole. Anyone caught not having a killer time will be asked to leave. Register online at www.cantstoprunningco.com before April 1st to get your race t-shirt. You can also register and pay cash or check at Poor Farmer’s RV parts store. All proceeds and donations will go to Autism Speaks. They are an organization that brings awareness and understanding of Autism to millions. Can you believe it is February already? Ever since I was a kid, I have been a fan of Star Wars. I loved the movies, the toys, TV shows and even the books. In fact, Star Wars novels are literally the only books I have read since high school. To real Star Wars fans, it is more than just movies, action figures and merchandise. True fans appreciate the entire Star Wars universe that was created by George Lucas and expanded upon by a multitude of talented writers, directors, and storytellers. As I got older, I assumed that my interest would fall to more adult activities such as backgammon or monitoring an IRA. As it turns out, being a Star Wars fan is something I never really grew out of. I still have my ever- accumulating Star War’s collection. I absolutely must see the movies in the theatres when they come out and have serious plans to buy my wife a Cara Dunn costume. (See inset picture to the right) Due to my love of Star Wars coupled with my duties as a writer; I have decided to write an article illustrating my opinion of the new hit series, The Mandalorian on Disney+. For those of you who enjoy Star Wars, this may be an interesting read. For those of you who are waiting to see what I say about Captain Kirk… you might not get as much out of this one. The Mandalorian is set five years after Return of the Jedi; George Lucas’s third film chronologically yet labeled “Episode VI”. The Emperor has been destroyed and the last remnants of the Empire has been scattered. The New Republic has been established, yet their footprint on the galaxy is limited in the outer rim territories. Leaving much of the galaxy in a state of lawlessness. Din Djarin, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, is the lead character in this story. He is a foundling, which means he was adopted by Mandalorians as a child. Therefore, he is a Mandalorian by creed and not native to the planet Mandalore. Another figure that wore Mandalorian armor was the infamous Boba Fett, who is one of many popular roles reintroduced in the Mandalorian series… not to mention my favorite character of all time. The Mandalorian takes you all over the Star Wars galaxy, introducing new worlds, characters, vehicles and weapons. All of which add their special touch to the story. The Mandalorian was created by John Favreau, an American actor/director who is one of the hardest working people in Hollywood. At his side is a plethora of talent including such names as Dave Filoni, Dallas Bryce Howard, Robert Rodriguez, Carl Weathers and George Lucas himself. Lostcreek-Shelby Rd Fletcher, Oh 45326 (937)368-2449 www.poorfarmerrvs.com Together, this all-star team of imagineers has created a show that has revitalized the Star Wars saga. 3 They have created a venue for fan-favorite characters to reunite. Bringing back such hero’s as Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka . Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze, and this writers favorite; Boba Fett. Accompanied by a cute little green child with puppy-dog eyes, the storylines are as infinite as the universe itself. The Mandalorian series has not only filled a void that has been lacking since the prequels; it has created a desire to reeducate myself on various aspects of the Star Wars universe. Especially those that were once thought of as childish cartoons in my mind. Little did I know, Dave Filoni’s The Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons contained numerous plot points, character developments and Easter Eggs that have culminated in The Mandalorian, not to mention the awesome battle scenes that are portrayed. John Favreau’s creation has become this fan’s new favorite. The time between seasons seems like an eternity, but at lease Mr. Favreau knows this and has developed more than half a dozen new spin-offs within the Star Wars universe for me to Continued from pg indulge until Din Djarin makes his season three debut in early 2022. Thank you for reading my review on Disney’s new hit series, The Mandalorian. For those of you who enjoy Star Wars, please let me know your opinion of the new shows that are being introduced. For those of you who just think I am a big dork and will always be a big dork, I have six words for you… May the Force Be with You.
