“THE FOURTH PRECEPT”

Stephen Martiniére Visionaries

“What is the Fourth Precept?” “There is no death. There is only .” —The Stark Hyperspace War

A surreal amalgamation of images representing FORCE STORM a cosmic struggle between light and dark. I have placed it here as representative of a #1-5 mythological telling of the foundations of the John Ostrander religion. The origins of the Jedi are being explored for the first time in fiction with the new Dawn of the Jedi series. INTO THE VOID

SKYBORN The ancient Queen Amanoa and King Ommin are both well past seventy (the king is so John Jackson Miller ancient that his bones are softened with age, and he requires a metal exoskeleton structure to move around), and their only heir is an attractive eighteen-year-old daughter. I’m not even going to ask how they managed that one. Concurrent to The Fall of the Sith Empire

THE FREEDON NADD UPRISING

#1, 2 Tom Veitch Omnibus Volume 2

Every time the spirit of Freedon Nadd shows up “in a flash of blue fire,” he looks suspiciously yellow. And Ulic’s skin tone has taken on a decidedly green and dusky hue. Strange things do indeed happen on Onderon. This story is also erroneously dated 3992 B.B.Y. in The Comics Companion.

Different artists are bound to interpret the same characters differently. But Nomi Sunrider manages to go from a slight, plain woman to a glamorous Amazon in just a couple of issues. I checked, and surely enough, the first artist was a woman, the second, a man. (For the record, I preferred the first—one gets tired of the silicone bombshells so popular in today’s graphic novels.) In later issues, she has something of a Linda Hamilton-meets-Geena Davis quality.

For some reason at this point in Dark Horse Comics’ publishing schedule, the series Knights of the Old Republic and Legacy both started with a new numbering slate, each series to be 8

self-contained (not unlike the old Tales of the “CZERKA 431” Jedi). The reasons for this are a little obscure to me, but perhaps even more inexplicable is Sterling Hershey why they should choose to name each reboot arc “War.”
