By establishing economic benefits for impoverished villagers or their communities, sustainable ecotourism is utilized to encourage local guardianship of natural resources. To assess sustainable ecotourism’s impact on the revenue of local residents in the Village of Khiriwong and the Khao Luang National Park, and its effects on the environmental preservation of the Khao Luang National Park in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand, the researcher randomly conducted surveys of the visitors’ attitudes about rewarding experiences during their village and park visits. Biologists and Ecologists were interviewed about sustainable ecotourism’s role in supporting environmental preservation in the village and national park.

Alarmed by the fall in numbers of this rare red deer, known scientifically as Cervus Elaphus Hanglu, and locally known as “Hangul”, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is doing everything possible to save it from extinction. Battling for its survival, the Hangul are now scattered within the Dachigam National Park, which is located under the Zabarwan mountain range on the outskirts of Srinagar. The Dachigam National Park is the natural habitat of the Hangul, though in the summers, some of them cross the boundaries of the national park to graze in the higher mountain reaches. The state government has prepared a plan for Hangul conservation with the help of the Dehradun-based Wildlife Institute of India at a cost of Rs.220 million. The five-year plan has been submitted to the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests for approval. As part of the plan, the state government will buy field equipment, satellite images, GIS hardware and software. It would also build carnivore-proof enclosures, guard huts, watch towers and take steps to stop poachers.

Our earlier knowledge on the. Cladccfra fauna cf Rcjasthan was almost scanty, and even of India a~a whole, meagre. After the papers of Gurney (1906, 1907), Brehm (1936, 1950, 1953) and Sewell t 1935), there are no important works worth mentioning. Gurney's work is mostly poncerned with Lower Bfngal and Chota Nagpur•. Brehm recorded some Cladocera from different parts of India, viz .•. Kashmir, Punjab, Saurashtra, etc., and Sewell's work is con£ned to the Cladocera of Bengal only. Recently, I have described. two speci(~ flom Rajasthan, viz., Latona tiwarii Biswas (1964) and Chydof-US brehmi Bif)W8S (1965). This report is based on the collections m'ade mostly from the Sambhar Lake Survey (November, 1957 to January, 1959) and two Rajasthan Desert Surveys undertaken by Dr.

So far, however, only two of the six temples known from the textual sources of the time have been identified and systematically excavated, i.e. that of Userkaf and Nyuserre. Four sanctuaries still remain to be discovered. The present paper has thus the aim to shed some light on their possible locations by means of the combined analysis of archaeological evidence, historical cartography and new remote sensing imagery.
