We were thrilled to offer a modified retreat for about 15 of our Sacramental Prep Year 1 families! We gathered, prayed, watched and discussed videos, learned about what prayer is, and visited stations set up to remind us that we can pray anytime and anywhere. We also talked about different prayer habits and how they all help us grow closer to God and about the importance of being a good exam- ple and following in Jesus’ footsteps. Each parent/child team was able to visit one station, so we filmed and posted pictures and teach- ings online so everyone could enjoy all of them, and for families not comfortable gathering at this time. Thanks so much to those who participated M we look forward to planning three more sacramental prep retreats after the New Year! *We also If you know a child in Grade 1 or beyond who still needs the Sacraments of , Confirmation, or , offer an please call. The Knights of Columbus Council #12941 in Bid- deford has raised over $7,000 as part of a virtual Walk for Life. “We will give $5,000 to the Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center in Sanford, $1,000 for the Esther Residence in Saco, and $1,000 to CourageLIVES,” said Dave McDonald, grand knight of the council. “The council made the decision in the fall to make this year’s Walk for Life virtual,” he said. Walkers participated in various sized groups, following diocesan protocols, by walking three miles to raise funds thanks to pre obtained pledges. “More people took part in 2020 than did last year, with family and friends making the difference,” McDonald added. “It was also an opportunity for participants to meditate, pray, or express love for any and all human souls from the womb to the tomb. The virtual Walk for Life has been a tribute to people’s generosity in hard times.” Even though the event was a virtual one, the 2020 Walk for Life had For more information about the Walk for Life, contact the council at more participants than last year’s walk, driving home the communi- 4687324. ty’s efforts to value all life.
