Fiche De Totem : Marozi Fiche de totem : Marozi Le marozi est un lion vivant sur les hauts plateaux d'Afrique principalement au Kenya.Il possède un pelage tacheté variant du jaune au brun,il est plus petit que le lion afriquain.Contrairement aux autres lion le mâle chasse avec les femelles.Le male possède une courte crinière.C'est un carnassier il se nourrit principalement de buffle et d'antilope. Le marozi ou lion tacheté du Kenya est un animal très mystérieux : son existence est encore mise en doute, il a d'ailleurs été très peu observé, c'est pourquoi il est difficile de lui attribuer un comportement particulier. Cependant, s'il est un hybride comme certains le disent, son caractère est très imprévisible puisqu'il aurait hérité de celui de deux espèces différentes : il oscillerait entre le caractère grégaire du lion et le tempérament solitaire et territorial du Floches léopard. Extérieur : Brun foncé Intérieur : Jaune Parmi les hypothèses de l'existence du marozi, on parle aussi d'une sous-espèce particulière de lion, adaptée à un milieu de montagnes. Cela expliquerait son apparence de lion de petite taille, avec une empreinte de patte est Classification proche de celle du lion elle aussi, bien que plus petite. Sous-Embranchement : Vertebrata Malgré le mystère qui entoure cette espèce, le marozi et le lion sont clairement Classe : Mammalia distingués par les peuples africains. Les Kikuyu, par exemple, désignent par Ordre : Carnivora simba le lion des plaines et par marozi le lion tacheté du Kenya. Famille : Felidae Le marozi a une robe caractéristique, tachée de rosettes de couleur claire et une courte crinière. C'est aussi l'une des hypothèses pour expliquer son Caractéristiques existence : le marozi serait un lion adulte ayant conservé ses taches de lionceau. Taille : Celles-ci représentent un bon moyen de camouflage pour des jeunes encore très vulnérables. La fourrure tachetée du marozi serait dans ce cas une Poids : 120-200kg persistance à l'âge adulte d'un trait juvénile. Longévité : 16ans Traits : Imprévisible par son caractère, Capable de s'adapter, Unique en son Portée : 1-4 genre, Coloré Gestation : 4 mois Protection : Inconnu.

Gandar Dower) Pacifist, explorer, aviator, sportsman, cryptozoologist, and war correspondent Kenneth Cecil Gandar Dower (1908-1944) was an astonishingly versatile man, who faced triumph and adversity alike with contagious enthusiasm, indomitable spirit, cynicism, and easy, self-effacing humour. Known to his friends simply as Gander , few biographical details remain of this intriguing character, yet perhaps few are needed since he voiced his feelings clearly in the handful of books he wrote during his short life. In what was his most controversial work, The Spotted Lion (1937), he admitted: We have all had our day-dreams of adventure...I seem to be one of those unfortunates who is driven by devils to put them into practice . K. C. Gandar Dower was born at his parent s home in Regent s Park, London, on 31st August 1908. He was the fourth and youngest son of the independently wealthy Joseph Wilson Gandar Dower and his wife Amelia Frances Germaine. Two of his elder brothers, Eric and Alan, served as Conservative Party members in the House of Commons, with Eric responsible for the creation of Aberdeen Airport. As a youth Kenneth read avidly the works of Rider Haggard and showed an interest in writing from the age of eight, although his teachers at Harrow School deemed him awkward and slow-witted. Despite this he wrote for The Harrovian with his friend Terence Rattigan, and proved himself a keen sportsman in cricket, association football, Eton Fives, and rackets. After gaining an upper second he received a scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge in 1927 to read history.

    Computing Text Semantic Relatedness using the Contents and Links of a Hypertext Encyclopedia Majid Yazdania,b, Andrei Popescu-Belisa aIdiap Research Institute 1920 Martigny, Switzerland bEPFL, Ecole´ Polytechnique Fed´ erale´ de Lausanne 1015 Lausanne, Switzerland Abstract We propose a method for computing semantic relatedness between words or texts by using knowledge from hypertext encyclopedias such as Wikipedia. A network of concepts is built by filtering the encyclopedia’s articles, each concept corresponding to an article. Two types of weighted links between concepts are considered: one based on hyperlinks between the texts of the articles, and another one based on the lexical similarity between them. We propose and imple- ment an efficient random walk algorithm that computes the distance between nodes, and then between sets of nodes, using the visiting probability from one (set of) node(s) to another. Moreover, to make the algorithm tractable, we propose and validate empirically two truncation methods, and then use an embedding space to learn an approximation of visiting probability. To evaluate the proposed distance, we apply our method to four important tasks in natural language processing: word similarity, document similarity, document clustering and classification, and ranking in in- formation retrieval. The performance of the method is state-of-the-art or close to it for each task, thus demonstrating the generality of the knowledge resource. Moreover, using both hyperlinks and lexical similarity links improves the scores with respect to a method using only one of them, because hyperlinks bring additional real-world knowledge not captured by lexical similarity. Mystery Cats of the World first appeared in 1989 and was the only book to review feline cryptids worldwide. In this 2020 edition, Shuker repeats this admirable achievement, and in the process gives us a solid overview of current knowledge of felid evolution, taxonomy, and genetic variation. In fact, the only feline mystery cat he does not describe is Hello Kitty. This edition will leave you purring with cryptozoological delight. Shuker has more than kept up with cryptozoology over the years, keeping the public informed with numerous popular books on dragons, new and rediscovered animals, the Loch Ness monster, and many other lesser-known cryptids. His ShukerNature blog (2009 to present) and his regular “Alien Zoo” column in Fortean Times provide an always- fascinating glimpse into ongoing cryptozoological controversies. He notes that since 1989, our under- standing of genes that cause variations in felid coat color has become more complicated.
