Religion Versus Relationship – Part 2: Misunderstood Mercy Sunday, May 2nd, 2021

GENESIS 3:6-10 6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

63-0608 - CONFERENCES 140) Oh, the hour, the tremendous time that we're living! And when men is told of their error, instead of trying to come back and say, "Father, I'm wrong; forgive me," they still hide behind the fig leaves. Fig leaves is what they sewed together, themselves. And they tried to... The word religion means "a covering." And they tried to make themself a hand-made covering. And man hasn't changed yet, today.

63-0412E - GOD HIDING HIMSELF IN SIMPLICITY 65) In the beginning, when man sinned, it showed the nature of man. He's always trying to hide from God, and make hisself a way that he can feel justified, a religion. That's been a religion, means "a covering." So he tried to make his own religion.

60-0611B - FELLOWSHIP E-40) …Then God made a remedy for that. In closing I might say this: In the garden of Eden, when God saw that His children had sinned and had gone from Him, God Himself, Who is the supreme Judge, made a reconciliation so He could restore that fellowship to His creatures by the shed blood of an animal. And that shed blood lasted for a many years under--speaking of the coming of Christ.

63-1129 - THE SUPER SIGN 66) Adam, he tried to make a super religion without an atonement. They're still trying to do it. A super religion, make a religion so he could live any way he wanted to, without an atonement, and still have a covering. He tried to do it in the beginning, and he is still trying to do it. 67) But God's provided way was an atonement, and it'll never work no other way. It has to come back to an atonement.

GENESIS 4:3-5 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

63-0707M - THE INDICTMENT 100) And that's the only place He meets with man today, is under the shed Blood of the Sacrifice. See? I don't care if you're a Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian; if you can forget your differences, Roman Catholic, whatever you might be, and will come under the shed Blood, God will meet with both of us there. That's where we can all meet and fellowship on the same grounds. But, otherwise, He will not meet just because 1

you're a Methodist; He'll not meet just because you're Pentecostals. He'll meet with you under one condition, that's, under the shed Blood, when your sins has been confessed and expelled in His Presence, then, by the Blood. And the Blood is always before Him, and therefore He only can see you through that shed Blood. And you're white as snow, see, when you've confessed your sins. Otherwise, you're not there, you cannot fellowship. 101) That's the reason that you don't see things happening in the churches. They confess that they believe the Blood, but they reject the very plan to get to the Blood; the Word.

63-1124E - THREE KINDS OF BELIEVERS 167) Now look, "God had testified," the Bible said. Hebrews the 4th chapter, or the 11th chapter, "God testifying of His gift, that he was righteous." God vindicated his offering. God made proof that that was what He accepted; that was His Word, His plan. And told Cain, said, "Do the same thing, and live." But do you think he would, he would forfeit his idea? No, sir.

65-0801M - THE GOD OF THIS EVIL AGE 80) Notice what he will do, his thoughts. He thought God dwelled in worldly beauty. He did that in Heaven. Sin never begin in the garden of Eden; it begin in Heaven, when Lucifer, the son of the morning, exalted himself in beauty, and wanted a more beautiful kingdom than that of Michael. And he thought that God dwelt in beauty. And notice Cain. He didn't want no blood sacrifice. He come down and offered the fruit, or the fields of beauty upon his altar. Very religious, done everything, that, just exactly like Abel done; offered a sacrifice, fell down before God in worship, obedient in every way, but without the revelation of the Word. And the Word was, from the beginning, God's plan. But God revealed, by revelation, the very thing that He vindicated and punctuated that that was right. Not religion, not an altar, not belonging to church, not making a sacrifice, not being sincere; but by the revelation of the Word of God.

GENESIS 4:8 8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

I JOHN 3:11-13 11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

GENESIS 4:9-17 9And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? GENESIS 4:19-24 19And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 22And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. 23And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 24If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

63-0728 - CHRIST IS THE MYSTERY OF GOD REVEALED 560) What's the denomination trying to do? Exalt itself, like Lucifer. They so-call themselves "the Church, the Bride." Which, they are in Revelation 17, as is spoke of, the false bride. Above Christ's little flock, the Bride; Lucifer thinks and exalts himself above the humble Word of God's Truth by the knowledge of the revelation, and has placed himself by a seminary education and theology until they have got themselves up. And if you don't belong in their group, then you are a out-wash. 561) Like Lucifer did in the beginning, to the people just exactly what Lucifer said to Eve, "Surely God will receive us! We feed the poor." That's good. "Surely He will receive us. We are a great denominational. We are a beautiful church. Why, look at our great buildings! Look at our great membership. We stand in the millions. Surely God will not turn that group down." 562) The same thing that Cain did, brought in the pretty fruits from the ground that he had tilled, and toiled, and worked, and brought in the fruits, and rejected the humble blood of the lamb. 563) God have mercy, that men and women will not think I'm saying this to exalt something, or some personal revelation or something. I'm only telling you the Truth. Can't you see what they're doing? See? I speak it loud and harsh, but you got to drive a nail till it clinches, if it's going to do any good, see, till you'll see it. See? 564) Now, saying to the people, "Surely! You mean to tell me that our great Catholic church, that stood all this time, our great Methodist, and all? Look at our forefathers!" See? But they broke the Word of the Lord. And Eve was God's, one of His, and he... she was a by-product of Adam; and because she doubted one Word of God's Word, it did it. 3

565) And here is Lucifer at his job again, today. And, remember, the antichrist is not communism. The antichrist is so close like the real thing, till, "It'd deceive the very Elected if it was possible," Jesus said, Matthew 24, "the Elected if it was possible." Lucifer, again, Lucifer again is breaking God's unity in man, by his limiting the Word of God to his reasonings. What he thinks that's right, and what he thinks, he breaks the Word of God. 566) And the same thing he did in the days of Jesus. And Jesus said, "You, by your traditions, has made the Word of God of no effect." 567) And the denominations, by their organized intellectual reasonings, has made God's Word of no effect upon the people. That's right. They just can't see It. Then they say, "Where is the God of the Bible?" He's right here. He's the Bible, that's what He is.

GENESIS 6:1-3 1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
