  • NEIGHBORHOOD PROTECTION REPORT Dear Neighbors
2019 NEIGHBORHOOD PROTECTION REPORT Dear Neighbors, Thank you for your support of the Chicago Cubs in 2019. Each year, we are proud to share with the community our efforts aimed at protecting and enhancing the quality of life for Lakeview residents, while ensuring the fan and visitor experience at Wrigley Field is the best in baseball. The work to expand and preserve Wrigley Field continued this year and the Cubs reached new levels in support for community and charitable activities. Through our investment of more than $1 million, we helped reduce traffic congestion in the area, proactively communicated to residents about events and activities in the neighborhood and helped keep our community clean and safe. Our notable achievements in 2019 are highlighted in this report. Among them: • Nearly 54,000 fans used the remote parking lot at 3900 N. Rockwell Street and took the shuttle bus to and from Wrigley Field, helping alleviate traffic in the neighborhood. • Nearly 4,000 bicyclists took advantage of the free valet service down the block from the ballpark, further reducing traffic and air pollution in the area. • Our neighborhood newsletter provided regular updates about events inside and outside the ballpark, including impacts to parking, traffic in the area and construction activity. • We continued to help deter crime and keep our neighborhood clean by funding programs such as Safe at Home and trash removal in Lakeview. We also are proud of our investments in the community. In 2019, the Cubs and Cubs Charities supported millions of dollars in charitable grants and donations to deserving nonprofit organizations in the neighborhood and throughout Chicago.

LANDMARK DESIGNATION REPORT Wrigley Field 1060 W. Daley, Mayor Department of Planning and Development Alicia Mazur Berg, Commissioner Cover: An aerial view of Wrigley Field. Above: Wrigley Field is located in the Lake View community area on Chicago’s North Side. The Commission on Chicago Landmarks, whose nine members are appointed by the Mayor, was established in 1968 by city ordinance. The Commission is responsible for recommending to the City Council which individual buildings, sites, objects, or districts should be designated as Chicago Landmarks, which protects them by law. The landmark designation process begins with a staff study and a preliminary summary of information related to the potential designation criteria. The next step is a preliminary vote by the land- marks commission as to whether the proposed landmark is worthy of consideration. This vote not only initiates the formal designation process, but it places the review of city permits for the property under the jurisdiction of the Commission until a final landmark recommendation is acted on by the City Council. This Landmark Designation Report is subject to possible revision and amendment during the designation process. Only language contained within the designation ordinance adopted by the City Council should be regarded as final. Wrigley Field 1060 W. • January 26, 2015 Csnchicago.Com Mr. Cub: Ernie Banks Did It His Way
January 26, 2015 CSNChicago.com Mr. Cub: Ernie Banks did it his way By Patrick Mooney A man walked down Addison Street late Saturday morning with a bouquet of flowers, placing it at the makeshift shrine outside Wrigley Field. A white No. 14 jersey hung from the railing. A Cubs hat, a Cubs helmet, at least one opened Budweiser can and a homemade poster lined the sidewalk. People held up their iPhones to take pictures of the memorial and the name in lights on the marquee: Ernie Banks did it his way. That usually implies a bully with a big ego, a loner making enemies while getting ahead. But for Mr. Cub, this always meant killing them with kindness. That begins to explain the outpouring of emotions in Chicago and all across the country. The team’s official press release on Friday night did not identify a cause of death for Banks, who would have celebrated his 84th birthday on Jan. 31. “He (meant) so much to Chicago fans,” Hall of Famer Billy Williams said. “He was always that positive guy. And when I got the news, it’s just like somebody shot bullets through my heart.” Banks was closing in on his second straight National League MVP Award when Williams made his big-league debut in 1959. The All-Star shortstop put up 92 homers and 272 RBI during that unbelievable two-year period. Banks always seemed to enjoy the moment, never bothered by the attention or burdened by the fame. He loved talking to behind-the-scenes employees at Wrigley Field, and interacting with fans young and old, and bantering with the media.

  • Chicago Cubs Marketing Plan
Chicago Cubs Marketing Plan Tyler L. Hunt University of Dubuque Chicago Cubs Organization Crane Kenney President of Business Operations Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field 1060 West Addison Street Chicago, IL 60613-4397 Tel: 773-404-2827 Dear Mr. Kenney, The Chicago Cubs are one of the most widely recognized franchises in all of sports, however, over the past few seasons our group of marketers has noticed the decline in fan attendance. As a group focused on the marketing of the organization we feel that our ideas and abilities will provide an insight on ways to improve the efforts and put people back in the seats of Wrigley Field. With the renovations, new players, and a new manager we feel that the organization has an opportunity to look to the future instead of focusing solely on the past. The stadium recently celebrated its 100th anniversary at Wrigley Field which was a wonderful celebration, but for us we feel that the second century in Wrigley Field is one that should focus more on the future and the championships that this turn of the page could inhibit. However, to be successful we need the support of the city behind us like the Cubs had for many years before. In our proposal we feel that there is quality image enhancements that would bring the business and marketing efforts back to the playing field that we as an organization want to be on. As an organization we would like to thank you for taking the time to review our written proposal and if interested our oral presentation.
