Woodstock School was organised by a group of English Women, members of the Society for Promoting Female Education. In 1856, two years later, it moved to its present location. The school was then shifted to Upper Woodstock and Woodstock Cottage (now Tafton) and was known as the Protestant Girl’s School. The name was changed in 1861 to Woodstock School.
