Abstract There is a growing body of evidence indicating that anxiety, stress and mental ill-health are becoming more prevalent in modern Western societies. At the same time, climate change and mass extinction have now taken root in a period of the earth’s history that has been labelled, ‘the Anthropocene’ and/or ‘Capitalocene’. Some academics have related these various issues to a ‘crisis of perception’ and a general nature-culture perceptual misalignment. This thesis/play is a deconstruction and (re)construction of human-environment conceptions in relation to mental health and wellbeing. More precisely, it is an attempt to map ‘the spread mind’ in ‘environ(mental) health’ (Mcphie, 2014a). (Intra-)Act 1 is an exploration of the performativity of particular Euclidean concepts as well as post-Enlightenment environmental and psychotherapeutic paradigms, with a particular emphasis on those that purport an innate connection with nature. The act also (re)views models that measure mental health as an objectified or subjectified essence within an anthropocentrically idealised self. By taking this approach, I highlight the distinct move in Western culture from an ontology of immanence to one of transcendence. (Intra-)Act 2 invites you to think with a post- qualitative collaborative action (re)search, using psychogeography and rhizoanalysis to map the temporal assemblages of six people-environments (a multiplicity), each with a specific diagnosed mental health concern, in order to explore how mental health and wellbeing is a distributed process. (Intra-)Act 3 and the assemblages present the rhizoanalyses in the form of (re)presentational experimentation including, Brechtian v playwriting and assemblages of mental health. By thinking with a troika of emerging contemporary process-relational ontologies, I propose an alternative post- psychotherapeutic pathway for how we might conceive of mental health and wellbeing. This attempt emphasises the intra-relational co-production of material agency and is (re)presented in this study as a process distributed of the environment. This is not a conclusion. Kahn, Jr. Department of Education and Human Development, Colby College; and The Mina Institute A venturesome hypothesis has been put forth by Wilson (1984), Kellert (1996), and others and has been receiving increasing support. The hypothesis asserts the existence of biophilia, a fundamental, genetically based human need and propensity to af®liate with other living organisms. A review of the biophilia literature sets into motion three overarching concerns. One focuses on the genetic basis of biophilia. A second focuses on how to understand seemingly negative af®liations with nature within the biophilic framework. A third focuses on the quality of supporting evi- dence and whether the biophilia hypothesis can be discon®rmed. Through this criti- cal examination, biophilia emerges as a valuable interdisciplinary framework for investigating the human af®liation with nature. Yet it is clearly a nascent framework, and some of its potential lies in charting a stronger ontogenetic course. Toward this end, in the second half of this article a structural±developmental approach is framed for investigating biophilia.     Trip notes: Lake District rock and roll, 3 - 5 November 2017 Many thanks for joining us for what I’m sure will be an awesome weekend. While we need to be flexible, the plan is to ride from our accommodation on Saturday – lowish level but awesome riding with some great techie sections. Weather permitting, we’ll use the mini bus to get a day in the mountains on Sunday – maybe Nan Bield, Helvellyn or High Street, or possibly a little lower but equally as exhilarating, above Coniston. We’ll have a full briefing over dinner on Friday evening and probably again on Saturday! Our accommodation We’re staying in Shackleton Lodge on the Brathay Estate, just outside Ambleside – details below. It’s a huge place with a large lounge and plenty of rooms. The beds are mainly bunks in large rooms and we won’t need to have more than 2 to a room. Remember to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and towel. We can get access to the lodge from 5pm on Friday evening and we aim dinner for 8pm on the first night, to give folk time to arrive. We’ll have breakfast together before heading out on Saturday and Sunday and enjoy more of Jo’s wonderful cooking for dinner on Saturday. Lunch arrangements will remain reasonably flexible to fit in with the day’s riding. Getting there: Satnav postcode is LA22 0HP. From the south, exit the M6 at junction 36 and merge onto the A590 (signposted Barrow A590 and Windermere, Kendal A591). Follow the A591 to Ambleside.

When Mark is seven years old, Nolan reveals that he is a member of Invincible: Volume 22: Reboot race of peaceful aliens called Viltrumites, who came to Earth to help mankind, and that one day, Mark will develop Invincible: Volume 22: Reboot powers of his own.

    1 Nature, Genetics, and the Biophilia Connection: Exploring Linkages with Social Work Values and Practice Fred H. Besthorn Dennis Saleebey Abstract: Social work’s notion of environment and its environmental responsibili - ties has always been narrowly defined. The profession has tended to either neglect natural environmental issues or accept shallow, ecological conceptualizations of nature as something other, quite separate from the human enterprise and/or outside the reach of social work activity. The Biophilia Hypothesis, first articulated by Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson in 1984, offers social work as a fundamentally differ - ent view of the person/environment construct and argues for a primary shift in the way the profession views its relationship with the natural world. This article traces the conceptual development of the Biophilic theory and reviews pivotal empirical evidence explicitly arguing for the essential Biophilic premise that humans have acquired, through their long evolutionary history, a strong genetic predisposition for nature and natural settings. It offers key insights and examples for incorporating Biophilia into social work’s values and knowledge base and how it may impact the profession’s practice strategies and techniques.
