Jason C. Burgoin The Toronto Branch continues to grow steadily , and our newsletter has been gaining traction and interest across the country and abroad, which is wonderful to see. I would be remiss if I didn't thank those who help to fill the pages, Hogtown Heraldry III The arms of the Chief of Defence Staff On 10 November 2016 at Rideau Hall, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Jonathan Holbert Vance CMM, MSC, CD was presented with his Letters Patent by the Governor General of Canada. Dr. Claire Boudreau FRHSC, AIH, Chief Herald of Canada and other members of the Canadian Heraldic Authority staff were also present. General Vance’s arms (as seen to the right), are a very bold and symbolic representation of a gentleman who has service his nation most honourably. The war horses, as supporters on each side of his arms, catch your eye quickly and you can tell that the person who bears these arms is truly a military leader.
