PROGRAMMKINO, NYMPHENBURGER STRASSE 31, TEL. (089) 55 52 55 (U1 STIGLMAIERPLATZ) MITGLIED DER GILDE DEUTSCHER FILMKUNSTTHEATER UND DER ARBEITSGEMEINSCHAFT KINO X-Men: Days of Future Past e (D: ; Cast: , Ian McKellen, Hugh Jack- man, James McAvoy, ) X-Men fans are happier than in a toupee factory that Bryan Singer, the popular di- rector of the first two »X-Men« installments, is back at the helm of this highly anticipated, action-packed latest adventure of the immensely popular adaptations. The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in the film, set in a dystopian future where ruthless Sentinels threaten to kill every living being. The beloved characters from the original »X- Men« film trilogy, including , Professor X and Wolverine, join forces with their younger selves (Fassbender, McAvoy) from »X- Men: First Class« in order to change a major historical event and fight in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future.

Words and Pictures e (D: Fred Schepisi; Cast: Clive Owen, Juliette Binoche, Amy Brenne- man) This witty romantic drama stars the engaging duo of Juliette Binoche (»The English Patient«) and Clive Owen (»Children of Men«) together on-screen for the first time. A one-time literary star, English teacher Jack Marcus (Owen) laments his students’ obsession with so- cial media rather than engaging with the power of the written word. He meets his match in Dina Delsanto (Binoche) - an abstract painter and new teacher on campus, who was once celebrated for her art. With his job on the line, Jack hatches an inspired plan for galvanizing stu- dent interest in their studies: he declares a war between Words and Pictures, confident that the former can convey greater meaning than the latter. Dina and her art students accept the challenge between Jack and his English students, and the battle lines are drawn.

Maleficent e (D: Robert Stromberg; Cast: , Elle Fanning, Sharlto Co- pley, ) This exciting adventure explores the untold story of one of Disney’s most sinister and iconic villains from the classic »Sleep- ing Beauty« fairy tale. Once a beautiful, pure-hearted woman, Malefi- cent (Jolie) enjoyed an idyllic life in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that turns her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora (Fanning). As the child grows, however, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom-and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

A Million Ways to Die In the West e (D: Seth MacFarlane; Cast: Seth MacFarlane, , Charlize Theron, ) Seth MacFarlane, the impudent creator of 2012’s box office hit comedy »Ted«, directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in this outra- geous take on the Western genre. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman (Theron) rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious gun-slinger (Neeson), arrives in town seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test. An offbeat and contemporary Western comedy laced with MacFarlane’s hallmark racy humor that unmistakably results in rude, crude, and terrifically funny entertainment.

Edge of Tomorrow e (D: ; Cast: , , ) Based on ’s acclaimed novel, this epic unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelent- ing assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Officer Bill Cage (Cruise) has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoni- ously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop - forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fight- ing and dying again.and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as the two take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to an- nihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.
