Meeting registration by 04th May 2017 Experts are requested to complete the attached registration form and submit to ISO/TC 130 Secretariat, Mr. ZHAO Gang (Mike) with a copy to Mr. Jason Lisi by May 04, 2017. The registration form is also available as word-file (ISO/TC 130 N 3320). Visa requirements To request a travel visa, please see document ISO/TC 130 N 3321, and follow the instructions. Invitation letter requests should be sent no later than April 7 to isd- [email protected]. Please note that delegates from countries where Canada has imposed sanctions, although welcome to attend, are unable to request a Visa invitation letter. This sanction list includes at this time, Russian delegates. Reservation information There are several hotels within close proximity to the Ryerson University campus. For your convenience, we have recommend three hotels, listed from least expensive to most expensive. You are welcome to use one of these hotels, or find your own accommodations. 1 Bond Place Hotel www.bondplace.ca This hotel is very basic, but it is modern and clean. Ryerson has a special rate here also, so it is a very good price for a downtown hotel. To get the ryerson rate, you would book through the following link: https://bookings.ihotelier.com/bookings.jsp?hotelId=12522&rateplanid=1806049 Currently it is showing a price of $145 CAN per night (approximately 98 EUR) Chelsea Hotel http://www.chelseatoronto.com/en/ This hotel is nice and still reasonably priced. Some rooms have been recently upgraded, but some are a little dated. Ryerson does not have a special rate here. Currently it is showing a price of $223 CAN per night (approximately 150 EUR) Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/yyzec-toronto-marriott-downtown-eaton-centre- hotel/ This hotel is very nice and is physically linked to the Eaton Centre Mall. Ryerson does not have a special rate here. Currently it is showing a price of $305 CAN per night (approximately 205 EUR) Access to meeting venue and hotel Ryerson University’s campus in right in the heart of downtown Toronto. It is easily accessible by car, transit, or taxi from Toronto Pearson International Airport. The TC 130 activities will be held in three different buildings on the Ryerson Campus. The buildings are all approximately a 2-4 minute walk from each other. All working group meetings will be held in the Rogers Communication Centre at Ryerson University. The building is located at 80 Gould Street, Toronto. Lunch will be held in the Pitman Hall Building, 160 Mutual Street, Toronto. There will be a reception and tours held in the Heidelberg School of Graphic Communications building, which is located at 125 Bond Street. Please see the campus map attached for logistics for each building (in the last page). Transportation from Toronto Pearson International Airport: Option 1: Union Pearson Express Train: This is a train that departs every 15 minutes from the airport and travels to Union Station in downtown Toronto. From Union Station you can take the subway to Dundas Station, or a taxi. For more information, please visit https://www.upexpress.com. Option 2: Take Taxis from the Airport: Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals area of both terminals at Pearson Airport. Visa Invitation Letters to attend standardization meetings in Canada The expert/delegate must send a request to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) at [email protected] as soon as it is apparent that a visa letter is required. Experts/delegates are required to indicate the information below in their email, which will be used by SCC to formulate the visa letter. SCC will send a signed electronic letter back to the requestor via email.
