PROGRAM OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of this program, a student will be able to:
PERFORMANCE- Demonstrate the requisite technical skills as a musical theatre actor including Acting, Voice Production and Dance and exhibit the ability to perform various styles with continued growth and artistry.
MUSIC PROFICIENCY- Develop and apply the basic musical skills including sight-singing, musicianship, music theory, and piano.
STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS-Break down text as it applies to scripts and scores for the musical theatre actor
PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION- Develop repertoryand techniques for auditions. Design a personal career plan to generate work in the theatre and showcase skills.
HISTORICAL STUDIES-Understand the fundamentals of theatre history and how the historical, political, economic and cultural contexts relate to theatrical styles.
COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION- Practice the collaborative process of theatre. Employ the skills necessary to communicate and collaborate in the artistic process.
