  • 2018-2019 Coastal Plain League Champions 2019 2018
2019 2018 Morehead City Marlins Baseball Club- Summer Internship Information 2021 SEASON (Summer) College Summer Baseball Overview The Marlins are currently seeking enthusiastic internship candidates for the 2021 season. The Morehead City Marlins are a member of the Coastal Plain League, a summer college wood-bat baseball league with teams in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. In 2021, the team will play a 50 game schedule from late May through early August (excluding playoffs), with at least 26 home games (excluding exhibitions) at Big Rock Stadium. The Marlins employ a small full-time staff led by the General Manager. Interns will thus perform integral duties over the course of the season, assisting in all areas of operation. The Marlins are looking for current undergraduates or graduate students in sport management, or related fields, that are serious about a career in professional or amateur team sports. If you are a successful candidate, you will get the opportunity to gain practical experience in multiple areas of team operations, including sales, marketing, promotions, stadium operations, ticketing, merchandising, media and public relations, and management. You will be working with Buddy Bengel, the owner of the Marlins, a veteran of the Coastal Plain League, and an important member of the Morehead City community. What does this mean to a potential intern? It means that Marlins management understands what skills and experience are needed to succeed in this business. You will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities designed not only to ensure the success of the Marlins in 2021, but also to impress hiring officials with teams, leagues, and organizations in the future.

  • After the Accords Anwar Sadat
WMHSMUN XXXIV After the Accords: Anwar Sadat’s Cabinet Background Guide “Unprecedented committees. Unparalleled debate. Unmatched fun.” Letters From the Directors Dear Delegates, Welcome to WMHSMUN XXXIV! My name is Hank Hermens and I am excited to be the in-room Director for Anwar Sadat’s Cabinet. I’m a junior at the College double majoring in International Relations and History. I have done model UN since my sophomore year of high school, and since then I have become increasingly involved. I compete as part of W&M’s travel team, staff our conferences, and have served as the Director of Media for our college level conference, &MUN. Right now, I’m a member of our Conference Team, planning travel and training delegates. Outside of MUN, I play trumpet in the Wind Ensemble, do research with AidData and for a professor, looking at the influence of Islamic institutions on electoral outcomes in Tunisia. In my admittedly limited free time, I enjoy reading, running, and hanging out with my friends around campus. As members of Anwar Sadat’s cabinet, you’ll have to deal with the fallout of Egypt’s recent peace with Israel, in Egypt, the greater Middle East and North Africa, and the world. You’ll also meet economic challenges, rising national political tensions, and more. Some of the problems you come up against will be easily solved, with only short-term solutions necessary. Others will require complex, long term solutions, or risk the possibility of further crises arising. No matter what, we will favor creative, outside-the-box ideas as well as collaboration and diplomacy.

  • Sexual Harassment Policy in the U.S., the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Women's Economic Citizenship, 1975-1991
NOT "PART OF THE JOB": SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY IN THE U.S., THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION, AND WOMEN'S ECONOMIC CITIZENSHIP, 1975-1991 Sheila Jones A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY December 2008 Committee: Liette Gidlow, Advisor Neal G. Jesse Graduate Faculty Representative Leigh Ann Wheeler Donald Nieman ii ABSTRACT Liette Gidlow, Advisor This project examines the history of federal sexual harassment policy in the United States between 1975 and 1991. It considers the origins of sexual harassment policy in the mid-1970s and its addition to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) anti- discrimination policy in 1980. Two questions direct this study: Why and how did sexual harassment policy originate in the 1970s? How did policymakers then re-frame it once feminist activists no longer controlled the issue’s definition? This dissertation argues that sexual harassment policy originated in the 1970s because working women and second-wave feminists succeeded in framing the problem as one of women’s economic citizenship rights, or women’s right to work without being sexually harassed. Once feminists lost this influence in the 1980s, conservatives including Reagan administration officials, members of Congress, and anti-feminist activists challenged the EEOC’s policy and altered its enforcement by lessening its protections for working women in favor of employers. Several sources inform this study, including EEOC records, legal cases, congressional hearings, government documents, and scholarship on second-wave feminism and economic citizenship. It finds that, after defining sexual harassment, feminists argued for public policy to stop it.

Created by Thomas Jefferson Professors Julie Greenberg, Susan Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Tiefenbrun and Susan Bisom-Rapp, and fostered by a committed group of faculty, staff and students, the first conference earned rave reviews from its attendees, including practitioners and legal academics. Professor Deborah Rhode of Stanford Law School, a widely acknowledged expert on the status of women in the legal profession, and then-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Legal Profession, delivered the first keynote address. After her 2003 visit to Thomas Jefferson School of Law, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg generously created the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Ruth Bader Ginsburg Lecture, which at the time was one of only two lecture series bearing her name. Ruth Bader Ginsburg Lecturers Joan Williams, Martha Albertson Fineman, Kathryn Abrams, Vicki Schultz, Rochelle Dreyfuss, Barbara Palmer, Cheryl Hanna, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Stacy Leeds, Sarah Weddington, Susan Williams, Stacy Pedrozo, Leslie Abramson, Bryant Garth, Leticia Saucedo, and Linda C. MINOR LEAGUE PRESIDENTS compiled by Tony Baseballs www.minorleaguebaseballs.com This document deals only with professional minor leagues (both independent and those affiliated with Major League Baseball) since the foundation of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (popularly known as Minor League Baseball, or MiLB) in 1902. Collegiate Summer leagues, semi-pro leagues, and all other non-professional leagues are excluded, but encouraged! The information herein was compiled from several sources including the Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball (2nd Ed.), Baseball Reference.com, Wikipedia, official league websites (most of which can be found under the umbrella of milb.com), and a great source for defunct leagues, Indy League Graveyard. I have no copyright on anything here, it's all public information, but it's never all been in one place before, in this layout. Copyrights belong to their respective owners, including but not limited to MLB, MiLB, and the independent leagues. The first section will list active leagues.
