2019 2018 Morehead City Marlins Baseball Club- Summer Internship Information 2021 SEASON (Summer) College Summer Baseball Overview The Marlins are currently seeking enthusiastic internship candidates for the 2021 season. The Morehead City Marlins are a member of the Coastal Plain League, a summer college wood-bat baseball league with teams in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. In 2021, the team will play a 50 game schedule from late May through early August (excluding playoffs), with at least 26 home games (excluding exhibitions) at Big Rock Stadium. The Marlins employ a small full-time staff led by the General Manager. Interns will thus perform integral duties over the course of the season, assisting in all areas of operation. The Marlins are looking for current undergraduates or graduate students in sport management, or related fields, that are serious about a career in professional or amateur team sports. If you are a successful candidate, you will get the opportunity to gain practical experience in multiple areas of team operations, including sales, marketing, promotions, stadium operations, ticketing, merchandising, media and public relations, and management. You will be working with Buddy Bengel, the owner of the Marlins, a veteran of the Coastal Plain League, and an important member of the Morehead City community. What does this mean to a potential intern? It means that Marlins management understands what skills and experience are needed to succeed in this business. You will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities designed not only to ensure the success of the Marlins in 2021, but also to impress hiring officials with teams, leagues, and organizations in the future.

  • Minor League Presidents
MINOR LEAGUE PRESIDENTS compiled by Tony Baseballs www.minorleaguebaseballs.com This document deals only with professional minor leagues (both independent and those affiliated with Major League Baseball) since the foundation of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (popularly known as Minor League Baseball, or MiLB) in 1902. Collegiate Summer leagues, semi-pro leagues, and all other non-professional leagues are excluded, but encouraged! The information herein was compiled from several sources including the Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball (2nd Ed.), Baseball Reference.com, Wikipedia, official league websites (most of which can be found under the umbrella of milb.com), and a great source for defunct leagues, Indy League Graveyard. I have no copyright on anything here, it's all public information, but it's never all been in one place before, in this layout. Copyrights belong to their respective owners, including but not limited to MLB, MiLB, and the independent leagues. The first section will list active leagues. Some have historical predecessors that will be found in the next section. LEAGUE ASSOCIATIONS The modern minor league system traces its roots to the formation of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (NAPBL) in 1902, an umbrella organization that established league classifications and a salary structure in an agreement with Major League Baseball. The group simplified the name to “Minor League Baseball” in 1999. MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL Patrick Powers, 1901 – 1909 Michael Sexton, 1910 – 1932

  • When Will the Season Start? As of April 29, 2020, the Coastal Plain League (CPL) Has Announced the Start of the Season Has Been Delayed Until July 1
When will the season start? As of April 29, 2020, the Coastal Plain League (CPL) has announced the start of the season has been delayed until July 1. The CPL and its member clubs will be working together with federal, state and local governments including the Town of Holly Springs to provide our fans, players and staff a safe environment once the season begins. How will the schedule change to accommodate the late start? Although the situation remains somewhat fluid, we do know the CPL has created a twenty-one (21) game home schedule starting July 1. We will continue to assess the situation and communicate with our fans, players and staff regarding ticketing policies and procedures, important safety measures and accessing Ting Stadium. The goal is to maintain as many games as possible. Questions about ticket exchanges: Single Tickets Single game tickets have not gone on sale to the general public as of April 29, but we will be releasing purchasing information in the coming weeks once the schedule has been announced and confirmed. Group Tickets If you have purchased a group package to any of our May or June games, a Holly Springs Salamanders Ticket Representative will be contacting you about exchanging your group to a later date in our season. Season Tickets and Mini-plan Holders If you are a Season Ticket or Mini-Plan Holder, a Holly Springs Salamanders Ticket Representative will be in touch to discuss how your tickets will be impacted. In the meantime, know that all of your tickets are fully exchangeable for any game on our schedule.
