The 82nd Hastings International Chess Congress ended on 3 teams had entered but 2 pulled out only 3 days before the Sunday 7th January. Over 450 entries from 21 countries took event. This was most disappointing, as a number of people part in the annual event at Horntye Park Sports Complex. had gone to a good deal of time and effort to find a suitable venue. Thanks to the kindness of Blackford’s Progressive The Trustees of Horntye Park Sports Complex awarded a Working Mans’ Club in Cannock in refunding the hire fee in Brilliancy prize of £100 plus a trophy which was won by Simon full.
