Sliabh Fuait Driving Tour Driving Directions Stop Number Directions Starting Point St. Malachy’s Church, Armagh City 1 - Lisnadill From the gates of St. Malachy’s Church, turn left onto Irish Street and Church continue onto the Keady Rd (A29). Take the first turn on the left onto the Newtownhamilton Road (B31) and follow the road for 2.5 miles. Our first stop is at Lisnadill Church, on the left hand side. 2 - St. Patrick’s From Lisnadill Church, continue on the Newtownhamilton Rd (B31) for 1.2 Church, miles. You will come to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballymacnab, on the left hand Ballymacnab / side. The Bull’s Track 3 - From St. Patrick’s Church and The Bull’s Track, remain on the B31 and travel Ballymacnab 0.4 miles. You will see O’Toole’s pub on the right and you can park directly Old Graveyard opposite it. From there, it is a short walk in the direction you were travelling to Ballymacnab Old Graveyard. The gates will be on your left, directly opposite the entrance to Ash View housing estate. 4 - To get to Carrickatuke viewpoint, continue on the B31 for 4.2 miles, you will Carrickatuke come to a staggered crossroads and there will be a brown sign for Fews Viewpoint Forest and Carrickatuke Viewpoint. Turn right here onto Viewpoint Road. Continue on this road for one mile and take the second right where there is another brown sign (also Viewpoint Road). After 0.2 miles, turn right onto an unnamed road and up to Carrickatuke Viewpoint. 5 - Darkley Leaving Carrickatuke Viewpoint, turn left at the bottom of the hill onto Forest/Mount Viewpoint Road. At the junction turn right and at the next junction turn ain Lodge right onto the Keady-Newtownhamilton Road (A29 ). Follow this road for 2.3 miles and then turn left onto Mountain Lodge Road. Travel on this road for 0.6 miles and Mountain Lodge Church will be on the right, with darkley Forest adjacent to it. There is a small car park at the forest where you can park. 6 - The Giant’s Leaving Darkley Forest, turn right and continue on the Mountain Lodge Road Grave / The for 0.1 miles. Take the first left onto the Upper Darkley Road and continue up King’s Grave this road for one mile up a steep incline. The grave will be on the left hand side as you begin to decent, just before an abandoned farmhouse. 7 - Leaving the Giant’s Grave, continue down the hill to a T-junction. Turn right Tullynawood and continue for one mile. Turn left at the crossroads and then take the first Lough left at a small white cottage. Follow this road for 0.2 miles and Tullynawood Lough will be on your left. 8 - Darkley On leaving Tullynawood Lough car park, turn right. Continue to the junction Mill Village and then turn left. Follow the road for 0.6 miles, entering Darkley Village, and Chimney the Mill Chimney will be on your right. 9 - Makem From Darkley mill chimney drive straight through the village and follow this Family Home rural road for 1.9 miles until you come to a roundabout at the edge of Keady town. Take the first exit and travel for 0.1 miles. There will be a row of terraced houses on your left, the Makem home is second from the end, it is number 44 and has a plaque next to the front door. 10 - Keady From the Makem family home, continue towards Keady town centre on Square Bridge Street. You will see the Tommy Makem Arts Centre (TMAC) on your right, and you can park here for stop number 10. 11 - Arthurs’ Leave the TMAC car park and turn right onto Bridge Street. At the junction House drive across Kinelowen Street onto Market Street and then take an immediate right at the back of the monument onto Madden Row. Continue for 0.5 miles and turn left at the junction onto the Middletown Road (B132). Arthur’s house is the first house on the left. 12 - Keady After Arthur’s House, turn around and head back along the Middletown Graveyard Road (B132) and onto Chapel Street. On the right is St. Patrick’s Church, Keady, and our next stop is directly opposite. 13 - Tassagh Continue to the end of Chapel Street and turn left onto Kinelowen Street. Old Graveyard Take the second right, and then an immediate left onto the Tassagh Road (B3). Follow the road for 1.8 miles, you will come to a stone bridge. Turn left here onto Dundrum Road, passing Basil Sheils’ bar on your right. Follow this road for one mile and Tassagh Old Graveyard will be on your left, surrounded by a white wall. 14 - Tassagh Continue from Tassagh Graveyard and you will pass directly under Tassagh Viaduct Viaduct, which is our final stop. End After leaving Tassagh Viaduct, continue in the direction you were travelling. At the junction you can turn left towards Keady or right towards Armagh (A29)..
