Tall buildings have a symbolic nature and become focal points or landmarks in key intersections of the Study Area. That said, it is critical that they do not compromise the integrity of the surrounding public realm.

Tall buildings are only permitted at specific sites within R51. Podium heights will dictate streetwall edge and the Study Area. Any future tall buildings will be evaluated will follow the Podium/Streetwall Heights figure against the City’s Tall Building Design Guidelines. As part of the study process, the Study Team developed a Demonstration Plan to illustrate the potential full build-out, with all sites developed, in compliance with the recommendations in this study.
