SacAnime to invade downtown Sacramento with over thousands of costumed fans.

Sacramento, Ca – SacAnime is returning to the Sacramento Convention Center January 2nd-4th, 2015. The bi-annual anime/pop culture convention is expecting over 12,000 attendees, many of whom will be cosplaying (costume playing) as their favorite pop culture characters.

Over 30 special guests will be in attendance, most offering free autographs. Guests include Peter Cullen (the voice of Transformers’ Optimus Prime), John Dimaggio (the voice of ’s Jake the Dog and ’s Bender), Charles Martinet (the voice of Nintendo’s Mario). Power Ranger villains Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar) and Barbara Goodson (Rita Repulsa), and original Sailor Moon cast members Linda Ballantyne (Sailor Moon), Katie Griffin (Sailor Mars), Susan Roman (Sailor Jupiter) and Toby Proctor (Tuxedo Mask) will be on hand. Professional cosplayer Yaya Han (Heroes of Cosplay) will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans all weekend. Over a dozen additional anime and video game voice actors will also be in attendance, all participating in daily panels and free autograph sessions.

Event highlights include a cosplay costume contest, exhibitor room featuring hundreds of vendors and artists, karaoke contest, video game tournaments, family friendly late night electronic dance, panels and workshops, amateur art contest, new kid zone hosted by Once Upon a Video Game and much more.

SacAnime is open to the public and prides itself of being family friendly. Admission for all three days is $45. Single day admissions are also available. Friday only is $30, Saturday only is $40, Sunday only is $25. There is also a Sunday exhibitor room only admission for $15. Children 8 and under are free. Participation in all events and access to special guests is all inclusive with admission to the show.

It was such a huge success that it continued to grow, moving to the Scottish Rite Center in 2005, then the Woodlake Hotel in 2009 and finally the Sacramento Convention Center in 2013.
