History in the Making By Kati Letzelter We walked through the front doors of Cloverleaf High School as freshmen in 2007, and now it’s time we walk out together for the last time as students. Little did we know, we were creating history these past four years. We took in all we could from high school and made as many memories as possi- ble. Freshmen year is the beginning of it all. We start out immature, just trying to fit in and find our way. We tried so hard because we thought that those first days of high school would define who we are for the rest of our lives. We took things for granted, made mistakes, and dreamed about nothing but our senior year. Little did we know it would come right around the cor- ner. Sophomore year feels like it could be the worst year of your life but may turn out to bring you some great memories. We worried about passing the OGTs, without realiz- ing that one day we would have to take even harder tests than that. We wanted to get past our underclass- men years and become upperclass- “At 17, it’s hard to look past Friday night!” It didn’t matter if we won or lost, what we’re left with is nothing but memories. Mike Biegel: I will my looks to 2011 Intoducing Your Valedictorians

Makenna Huff Valedictorian After a successful academic career at Cloverleaf, senior Makenna Huff graduates as the top-ranked student for the class of 2011. This fall, the valedictorian will join Ohio Wesleyan University to major in mathematics and eventually become a math teacher, preferably for high school or college students. While Huff plans to continue her education through graduate school, she is unsure what her future may entail. “Time will tell,” she says. Huff is appreciative of her experience at Cloverleaf and says that she will walk away from high school with friends and a lot of memories. While at Cloverleaf, Huff’s favorite class was Mechanical Drawing and her favorite teachers were Mr. Flint, Mr. Ryan, Mr. Gucker, Mrs. Wooley, and Mr. Vaughn. “She is an exceptional student,” said Jim Vaughn. “She has been one of the best students I have had in my 13 years of teach- ing.”

Sierra Hollopeter Valedictorian Also graduating as a valedictorian in 2011 is Sierra Hollopeter, who will be attending Miami University (Ohio) beginning in the fall. While her major is still undecided, Hollopeter knows that she would like to obtain a master’s degree and study abroad at some point. Hollopeter had a fun and rewarding high school career and will take with her many friends and memories from Cloverleaf. Hollopeter’s favorite class was AP Statistics her senior year and her favorite teachers at Cloverleaf are Mrs. Wooley and Mr. Wachtel. “I’ve been privileged to have Sierra in 9th Grade Honors English and AP English in 12th grade,” said Mary Lee Wooley, her English teacher. “She is worthy of the honor of being valedictorian.”

Sarah Rogers Valedictorian Sarah Rogers, who will be entering John Carroll University to study Biochemistry, is also graduating Cloverleaf High School as a valedictorian for the class of 2011. Rogers would like to use biochemistry to possibly conduct research or become a doc- tor. “I’ll end up where I’m supposed to be,” she contently stated. Rogers has a positive high school experience and will take with her memories and good friends. Her favorite teachers at Cloverleaf are “the science hall teachers” and her favorite class is AP English. “I think Sarah is one of the more focused, passionate, and kind-hearted students I have enjoyed teaching,” commented sci- ence teacher Garth Gucker. “She is very conscious about always trying her best.” and Salutatorians for 2011

Lauren McGraw Salutatorian After graduating as a salutatorian of the class of 2011, Lauren McGraw is leaving Cloverleaf to study meteorology at the Uni- versity of Oklahoma. McGraw wants to conduct research as her career and would like to go on to graduate school and also re- ceive a doctorate. McGraw is leaving Cloverleaf with a strong work ethic that she hopes will follow her the rest of her life. McGraw’s favorite class at Cloverleaf was Chemistry II her senior year and her favorite teacher is Mr. Flint of the social stud- ies department. “Lauren is an excellent student, one of the finest I’ve had,” said Flint. “She has also been a true leader on Academic Challenge for years.”

James Crawford Salutatorian James Crawford, who will be attending Ohio Northern University, is excited to be graduating Cloverleaf as a salutatorian. At Ohio Northern, Crawford will study Mechanical Engineering and would like to work in transportation development or energy development. In the future, James wants to go to college, get a career, and marry at some point. “Whatever God wants me to do,” he said. If he had to choose one, Crawford’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Wooley and his favorite class was Robotics with Mr. Vaughn. Crawford says he is walking away from Cloverleaf with growth as an individual, which has been witnessed first-hand by his favorite teacher. “I’ve known James since 8th grade when he took my Honors English class, and I had him again in 11th grade when he had AP English, and now he is the National Honor Society president,” said Wooley. “I am pleased to know him and know that he is as nice as he is smart.” Seniors 2011 What We Saw, What We Encountered By Brendan Maynard & their country.
