About Clod Ensemble CLOD ENSEMBLE is one of the UK’s leading interdisciplinary theatre companies. For over two decades, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, creating provocative, finely crafted work, ambitious in scale and concept.

We collaborate with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras. Our work is presented in , across the UK and internationally in theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces. Clod Ensemble also creates a range of participation and education programmes. For over a decade, our award- winning Performing Medicine initiative draws on techniques and ideas from the arts to provide courses, workshops and events for healthcare professionals and medical students.

• Clod Ensemble is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity • Clod Ensemble is an Arts Council England’s National Portfolio organisation (2018 - 2022) and is in receipt of a Wellcome Trust Sustaining Excellence Award (2015 - 2020). • We are a touring company working at small and mid-scale, producing one or two national tours per year, as well as performing internationally. • We run a music composition programme in partnership with three London comprehensive schools, called Living Room Music. • We offer a free artist training programme, Reboot, across the UK • We run an award-winning programme of events, courses and workshops for health professionals and students called Performing Medicine, • We work with 3,500+ healthcare professionals and 80+ Artists and Performers each year

Our Board We are currently looking for new Trustees to join our board as several board members have recently, or are shortly due to retire from the board. We have a hugely exciting programme ahead of us for the next 4 years, taking our performance and education work across the UK and internationally. We are looking for people who can support us in our mission to create genre-defying performance, which inspires a broad range of audiences, cross-pollinates ideas, and effects change.

About the role The role of the board is to support the strategic vision and leadership of the company and ensure we are continuing to fulfill our mission and live by our core values. Trustees are key ambassadors of Clod Ensemble, promoting our work and helping to ensure best practice across the company’s management.

The Board meet approximately four times a year in London. Trustees can also choose to join the Financial Sub- Committees, which meets directly before board meetings, or work more closely with a member of the staff team, offer advice and support.

Each Trustee is elected for a term of 4 years, although they can choose to stand-down at any time. Trustees may remain on the board for two terms (a total of 8 years) before retiring.

We are particularly interested in people with expertise in the following areas: • Financial Management & Accounting of an arts organisation • Contemporary & Independent Music Sector • Organisational development • Arts and Health • Public Health Sector • Marketing and Communications

Clod Ensemble are happy to pay Trustee’s travel and childcare expenses and are committed to making meeting accessible for all trustees.
