Risk and control in the This work consists of research into the recreational arena the young recreational drug culture inhabit during the weekend, particularly at night. It endeavours to achieve a better understanding of youth subcultures and, as part of this, the use of drugs. The study is supported by quantitative data from a wide survey SONAR PROJECT of 2,700 young Europeans (interviewed in Athens, Berlin, Coimbra, Manchester, Modena, Nice, Palma, Utrecht and Vienna) involved in recreational activities. Ethnographical studies were made twice in each city.
