Far North District Council Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) Electing 2 Members Garry CLARKE My principal place of residence is in the Kaikohe- Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) area. Kia Ora. My name is Garry Clarke I have had the opportunity of serving on the Western Community Board for the past 3 years and 4 months. Through this experience I have realized that we can make a difference. With your encouragement and support I would like to continue in this position and are now asking for your vote for re election for the next term. My wife Liza and I have been living in Rawene for the past 16 years. We started the Hokianga Kyokushin karate Club in 2001 and this was the start of my appreciation for our community and of forging lasting relationships with so many of you. I am seeking re election for the community board for one reason, which is to help make a better place for all of us to live, to make our place a happy place. Best Regards, Garry Clarke. Far North District Council Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) Electing 2 Members John SCHOLLUM Community First Kaikohe Hokianga My principal place of residence is not in the Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) area. Since elected to the Kaikohe Hokianga Community Board in 2008, the community can see what I stand for: Buy, celebrate, support local; The community has people and skills to resolve issues; it may need your help, but not imposed ideas; Engage the local community before making decisions; Let locals sort it out. Since settling in Northland, I've lived in the Hokianga and Kaikohe. I raise my family here. I love the place. But the world is centralising. The voice of small communities is being discarded. Time to be assertive! Hold local and central government accountable for their actions. If it affects our community, from roads, environment, safety, employment, our voice needs to be right there and not ignored. Being an effective advocate or representative is so important. I'm seeking re-election. As your representative I will use my experience to be a voice for 'community first'. Far North District Council Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) Electing 2 Members Louis TOORENBURG My principal place of residence is in the Kaikohe- Hokianga Community Board (South Hokianga Subdivision) area. It is about Community, it is about giving the communities a voice, it is about passion for the area you live in, to make sure that it gets a say in its future and gets what it desires while working within financial and environmental constraints. It is about team work to achieve the best results for your community. It is being able to work with various groups, hapu and people within our community to help achieve the desired results. I have lived and been active in South Hokianga for more than 40 years, I have and still serve on many community focused groups and organisation. I have a wonderful supportive wife Sue, I have helped raise a great family. We run the quirky Labyrinth Woodworks, and if something needs to be puzzled out, I am your man. So let's build a great future together. Louis Toorenburg. https://www.facebook.com/LouisToorenburgKaikoheHokiangaC- ommunity/.
