Siva and V. Loganathan Department of Mechanical Engineering, Priyadarshini Engineering College Vaniyambadi, India Abstract: Aerodynamics plays an important role while designing any automotives. Due to the aerodynamics the entire performance of the automotive will be changed. In this project a car model Toyota fortuner is considered and it is modeled using solid works modeling software. Attention is only given to the external design of the car, while the interior is not modeled. Furthermore the modeled car is considered as a 2D model for future analysis using ANSYS Fluent to determine the aerodynamic characteristics like pressure, down-force and drag. The 2D model is considered here because the time taken to analyze the 3D model will be more, so to reduce the analysis time we are considering the 2D model alone. However the result obtained in 2D model will be same as the 3D model. Drag plays an important role in car aerodynamics which is an external resistance of the car. Objective of this project is to reduce the drag of the car by modifying the car shape. The modified 2D car model is also analyzed in ANSYS fluent and the results for the existing 2D model and modified 2D car model is analyzed for various speeds. Due to this design modification the drag will be reduced without decreasing the car performance.

The 50/50 split seatback folds to provide more room for cargo. The front seatbacks do not return to their original position and have to be readjusted each time they are folded forward. Liftover to the roomy trunk is high, and the rear hatch does not open high enough to safely clear the head of tall individual. Safety and convenience Though interior finish is excellent, road- and engine-noise suppression leaves much to be desired. The new Celica is quieter than before, but even if it is sports car, it should filter out more of this type of noise. On the other hand, the click of the turn signals is barely audible, and should be louder. Instruments and controls are well laid-out but the cup holder behind the gearshift lever can be a nuisance, depending on the size of the beverage container. There are lots of roomy storage spaces, and both the climate control and sound systems work very well.

The companies will leverage the newly developed Hino XL Series chassis with Toyota’s proven fuel cell technology to deliver exceptional capability without harmful emissions. This collaboration expands upon the existing effort to develop a 25-ton FCET for the Japanese market which was announced earlier this year. The initial demonstration vehicle is expected to arrive in the first half of 2021. “A fuel cell powered version of the Hino XL Series is a win-win for both customers and the community.
