SUB COURT/ASSISTANT SESSIONS COURT, Information mandated under Section 4(1)(b) of the Right to Information Act 2005.

Sub Court/Assistant Sessions Court, Thodupuzha- Organisation, Functions and duties.

(1) Sub Court/Asst. Sessions Court, Thodupuzha is situated at Court Complex, Muttom, Idukki (District). This court takes decision in all civil cases value

above ` 10,00,000/- filed in this court, all criminal cases made over to this court and execute the orders.

(II) The powers and duties of officers and employees. 1 Sub Judge/ Presiding Officer of the court. Taking judicial Asst. Sessions Judge decision in all civil cases valued above ` 10,00,000/- and all Sessions cases made over to this court. 2 Sheristadar Chief Ministerial Officer of the court. Verify and receive all new suits, I.A's and all papers and documents filed before the court. Supervise all staff members and give necessary directions for the smooth functioning of the court. 3 Junior Superintendent Supervise all sections day to day works. Handle Service records of all employees and other office communications. Public Information Officer. 4 Head Clerk Establishment Section. All works of CCD and CRCD accounts of this court. Custodian of all furniture and library books of the court. Supervision of Bench Section. Assistant Public Information Officer. 5 Bench Clerk (Gr.II) All cases filed in the court are called by bench clerk in open court. Prepare all judicial proceedings in 'A' diary and entered it in CIS and prepare all statement in bench section. 6 Bench Assistants To assist the Bench Clerk for the smooth functioning of the Bench Section in various categories of cases. All works in the Vistharam Section. 7 Confidential Assistant Do all dictation works . 2

8 Account Clerk All works in the account section. 9 Despatch/Inward/ All papers received daily relating to case files Court fee clerk and other papers distributed to various sections, despatch all papers, up to date court fee and stamp accounts. 10 Fair Copy Supervise all Typists. Issuing copy applications. Superintendent 11 Fair copy section Fair copying of Judgments, orders and all other Typist typing works in various sections. Copying and photo copying works. 12 Decree section Clerk Filing of new suits in the register. Prepare Decree and file the same to the register. 13 Record Section Clerk Record clerk is the custodian of all disposed cases and other documents. Also in charge of the stationary section. 14 Attender Assist Record Keeper 15 Office Attendant Staff attached to the Presiding Officer. 16 Part Time Sweeper Sweeping and cleaning duties of the court. III The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability. Cases filed as per CPC and Cr. PC are verified and numbered by the Chief Ministerial Officer. There after it will be entered in to Court Fee register and sent to Bench Section. Bench clerk will call these cases in open court. All other works related to establishment are supervised by the Chief Ministerial Officer. IV The norms set by Sub Court/Asst. Sessions Court for the discharge of its functions. Judicial decision making as per CPC, Cr. PC. V The rules,regulations,instructions,manuals and records, held by Sub Court /Asst. Sessions Court of under its control or used by its employees for discharging of its functions. Rules and regulations as per CPC, Cr. PC, MOP, KSR, Financial code, Treasury Code, etc. VI Categories of documents that are held by Sub Court /Assistant Sessions Court or under its control. Civil cases above ` 10,00,000/- coming under the pecuniary jurisdiction of Thodupuzha, Kudayathoor, Kumaramangalam, Velliyamattom, Manakkadu, Purappuzha, Karikode, Muttom, Arakkulam, Karimkunnam, Kodikkulam, Alakkode, , , Elappally, , Neyyassery 3

and Sessions Cases made over by the District and Sessions Court. The computerised enquiry counter functioning in the court complex furnishes information on the status of cases pending/disposed in this court. The public can directly access the touch screen facility at the entrance of the court complex for information on status of cases filed/pending/disposed. Information on other matters can be obtained from the public information officer as per provisions of the Right to Information Act 2005. No library is maintained for public use. 6
