CALIBRO 35 “DECADE” LP/CD/DIGITAL/CASSETTE – 2 FEBBRAIO 2018 § RECORD KICKS / AUDIOGLOBE A 10 anni dal loro esordio Calibro 35 pubblicano il loro sesto album in studio. “Decade”, che uscirà il 2 febbraio per la label milanese Record Kicks, più che una celebrazione è una time capsule, in cui la band ha inserito tutti gli elementi di cui si è composta la sua storia fnora, per volgere lo sguardo in avanti. Una delle poche band indipendenti italiane ad aver costruito un percorso progressivo e duraturo in ambito internazionale, i Calibro - guidati dal vincitore di un Grammy Tommaso Colliva - hanno mosso passi in molti campi e declinato il proprio stile, ormai riconoscibilissimo, su diverse forme di espressione musicale: non solo dischi e moltissimi live, ma anche colonne sonore, produzioni tv, sonorizzazioni, library music, libri e spettacoli teatrali. Per la prima volta su questo disco Calibro 35 allargano anche alla fase di registrazione di un intero album la propria formazione ad una piccola orchestra composta da archi, fati e percussioni: al fanco della classica band a quattro di Cavina, Gabrielli, Martellotta e Rondanini troviamo infatti gli Esecutori di Metallo su Carta, ensemble fondato dallo stesso Enrico Gabrielli con Sebastiano De Gennaro. Insieme a questo importante elemento di novità, troviamo - oltre alla strumentazione vintage a cui Calibro ci hanno progressivamente abituato come clavinet, farfsa, synth analogici, eko e chitarre fuzz - una serie di elementi nuovi come Dan Bau, Balafon e Waterphone. Ne viene fuori una creatura strana e atemporale simile alle avanguardie architettoniche degli anni ’70 come SuperStudio e ArchiZoom, non a caso omaggiati nei titoli e nella copertina del disco.

Cinematic Funk Cult Combo CALIBRO 35 Announce Their 7Th Studio Album “MOMENTUM”
DAN DEACON MYSTIC FAMILIAR OVERVIEW Dan Deacon, composer and performer, returns with his new studio album, Mystic Familiar. Following 2015’s Gliss Riffer, Dan embarked on a whirlwind of collaborative projects, scoring eight fi lms, including Rat Film and Time Trial; collaborating with choreographer Justin Peck on dance piece The Times Are Racing; producing and co-writing with Ed Schrader’s Music Beat; and performing with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. While fulfi lling, these projects all lacked one instrument: Dan’s voice. During this time, solo writing became his personal oasis, taking on an exploratory new direction informed by his newly adopted therapeutic practices of self-compassion and mindfulness, daily prompts from Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies, and meditation to access an inner well of creativity as discussed by David Lynch in Catching the Big Fish. City map Groningen preface musicXport.nl 4 Promoting the Dutch During the last decade the EuroSonic Noorderslag weekend gradually became the ever more important and influential platform for discovering new and upcoming European talent. A constantly growing army of international talent seekers has Noorderslag in its agenda. Every year they reserve time for the second weekend of January to visit the city of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands. New talent from the UK to France, from Germany to Norway and from Moldavia to Finland is playing there on a growing number of stages. Festivals scout and book the new stars, labels are looking for new signings, artist managers are also on the prowl. Among those hundreds of new talents from all over Europe are also the very best the Dutch have to offer themselves. A lot of them are on the bill for the Saturday night, for the actual Noorderslag Festival in the Oosterpoort venue, that contains eight different stages throughout the building. This gives them the opportunity to show what’s happening in the booming Dutch hiphop scene, the flourishing metal- and guitar rock scenes and in the world famous Dutch dance scene.
