W 2-1 GUSTAVUS EMBARKS ON 72ND SEASON OF MEN’S HOCKEY The Gustavus men’s hockey team is currently in its 72nd season of existence. VS. ST. THOMAS One of the storied programs in collegiate hockey, Gustavus has compiled an All-Time 59-63-8 all-time record of 833-611-64 overall and 551-421-41 in the MIAC. Gustavus Last Meeting W 1-0 (2/23/13) first recognized a men’s hockey team in 1937 when then Director of Physical Current Streak W - 1 Education George Myrum became interested in the sport and raised the funds to sponsor a team. The Gusties fell to Carleton in their first ever Head Coach Brett Petersen intercollegiate game in 1936. It would take until 1939, the first year Gustavus Record at Gustavus 182-141-28 played on natural ice in the on-campus fieldhouse, for Gustavus to record the first victory in the program’s history. vs. St. Thomas 10-20-2 Head Coach Je" Boeser GUSTAVUS COACHING STAFF Record at St. Thomas 45-27-6 Head Coach Brett Petersen is in his 14th season at the helm of the Gustavus vs. Gustavus 5-2-0 men’s hockey program. Petersen has compiled a 182-141-28 overall record in his 13-plus seasons at Gustavus. His 182 wins at Gustavus ranks second Last Five Seasons 8-6-0 behind legendary coach Don Roberts.
